Beach In Summer

The sun sat at the peak of the sky, perched upon wispy clouds,
tendrils of amber splayed from every side of the fiery orb,
licking the sky and bathing it in flames. Foam splashed where
the ocean hit the sand, dissipating into the crevices in the gilded
sand as the ocean withdrew. It was like staring into a mirror; the
glassy ocean reflected every ripple of colour in the sky, as if you
could reach out and touch the sun and feel its searing heat
stretch through your palm. Rocks broke the surface of the water
at irregular angles in the water casting shadows onto the
undisturbed water. As the sun dipped further into the sky,
dragging a curtain of stars behind it, the sound of children and
playing was beginning to die out, leaving a silent aura over the
beach that was always so full of noise. Now the overwhelming
noise was replaced with the taste of salt and the sound of
lapping as the waves hit the shore
