Sub: Request to permit Pre PhD Course Work through Online Mode for the session 2021-22

Respected Sir,
We are the students, enrolled as part-time scholars for the PhD for the session 2021-2022 in
Guru Ramdas School of Planning of your reputed university. We are working in different
organizations in different cities of India e.g. Gurugram, Delhi, NOIDA, Chandigarh, etc. Also,
all of us are having families and some of us have kids at home.
Keeping the COVID and recent Dengue conditions in the cities, we feel responsible to look
after ourselves and our families. It is with reference to letter no. 7/56/2020/2H4/5121 dated
30th September 2021 regarding Covid –19 restrictions, the Department of Home Affairs &
Justice, Government of Punjab, has allowed opening the education institutes. Simultaneously,
it has also directed institutes to keep the option of online classes to reduce the travel for
education especially interstate travel and to minimize the crowd in the classes to maintain the
social distancing.
Keeping in mind the Covid guidelines issued by the Department of Home Affairs & Justice,
Government of Punjab and the grim condition that the nation is going through, in such a
scenario, the ideal option for us would be to attend online classes. It will reduce our travel from
different cities to Amritsar every week and reduce the chances to get infected.
Hence, we would like to request you to permit us to attend the classes for Pre PhD Courses
of the Planning Department through online mode. We hope that you would understand the
urgency of the situation and oblige us.
