By the end of the lesson, students will be able to
 identify audience and purpose of the account.
 understand the language, tone and structure needed for an account.
 include relevant details pertaining to the topic.
 write a detailed account on the given topic, with events in chronological order.

Course content to be taught

1. Short quiz based on specific information to create a complete picture of the event for the reader
2. PowerPoint presentation covering the format and essentials of account writing.

By taking the quiz students will be better able to understand the ‘purpose’ of an account and
the proper details to be included.

Middle
Students will go through a PowerPoint presentation outlining the essentials of account 20 min
writing.

 Use of past tense and first person
 Length of paragraphs and word limit.
Students will be instructed to take notes which will help them write their own accounts
better.
Conclusion
Then, students will read a sample account to give them an idea of how a proper account is to 15 min
