Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of the activity, the FS students should be able to achieve the following intended learning outcomes:
1. observed and assess various classroom management strategies that enhances learning;
2. distinguish the features of a school environment that is safe, secure and conducive for learning; and
3. Design a school environment that is safe, secure and supportive to learning.

LEARNING OVERVIEW
This activity will include video viewing of different school perspectives, online observation and interview
with teachers and school personnel in charge of the physical plant and/or flash back of their previous school
environment. Their exposure to various school settings will enable them to generate or illustrate their ideal school
environment that is safe, secure and conducive for learning.

My Observation

Directions: Read the following carefully before you accomplished different task stated in this portfolio.
1. Make a flashback of your previous school environment or download and/or view available school
perspectives, elementary or high school, rural or urban, local or international.
2. Observe an online class (virtual/recorded) and note the different management strategies used by the
teacher. Follow classroom netiquette while observing various classroom activities.
3. Observe etiquette and netiquette while downloading and/or conducting online interview process.

11. What are the facilities you find most useful?

 The facility that I find most useful in my previous school was the gymnasium. My previous school
Nancapian National High School is known for having a skilled and great volleyball players, so this
facility helped a lot of students in training themselves, also this facility is used for all types of
events.

2. What are the facilities you find least useful?

 The least useful facility in my previous school was the Audio/Visual Learning Resource Center
because of the lack of equipment at that time.

3. Are there other facilities you observed/remembered that are not stated above? If yes, list them below.

 The Supreme Student Government (SSG) Office, this facility is important so that the student can
improve their leadership abilities.

4. Describe the community where the school is located.

 The Nancapian National High School was located in the community of Nancapian. I can say that
my previous school is far from other distracting noise and it is surrounded with trees, because it
has been located behind the BQJ Elementary School. NNHS has ample space for playing and
extracurricular activities.

5. What facilities are found in the community that aid learning?


 The E-Library in the Barangay, Health Center, and Computer Shops are the facilities found in the
community that aids learning. These facilities are very helpful for the students because we are far
from town, it gives assistance and support to all the students.

1. What are the classroom management strategy (ies) that you have observed?

 Managing classroom has changed since pandemic hits, the rapid changes challenged schools.
Teachers were required to quickly learn how to deliver instruction, how they effectively deliver the
content of their lesson and how to engage students in an online learning environment. Here are
some classroom management that I observed:
 The teacher encouraged students to be initiative.
 The teacher offer praises to the students for the job well done.

2. What part(s) of the lesson this/these management strategy (ies) were utilized?

 The teacher utilized these management strategies in the development of the lesson, because
during the teaching and learning process the teacher encouraged the students to read the
PowerPoint Presentation, and they interact actively during the discussion, they also represent
themselves to read the presentation of the teacher.

3. What management strategy did the teacher utilize to keep the learning environment safe and
conducive?
 The teacher uses every possible and available opportunity to create an atmosphere that
encourages the student’s participation in the learning and to keep the learning environment safe
and conducive. The teacher also uses Google Meet as a platform to meet her students and to
keep that platform safe and conducive to everyone that teacher send the link only to Grade 10 so
no one can enter the meet.

When do you consider a facility useful or not?


 We consider a facility useful when it is used by everyone frequently and consistently.

When do you say that a facility aids learning? Cite some instances.
 We can say that a facility aids learning when it is helpful to everyone. For example, the facilities
found at our community, it aids learning because the E-Library in our Barangay helps students to
finish their homework and research, and they can easily gather information and knowledge using
this available facility.

What is the impact of environment to the learners?


 Classroom environment is one of the most important factors that affect student learning. An ideal
learning classroom is when students view their classrooms as positive and supportive. It is a space
where they feel safe and secure. Classroom environment is essential as it enables students to be
inquirers and explorers and true leaders of their own learning, a positive environment is where children
are able to work as a team, celebrate each other’s achievements and learn from mistakes. It enhances
students’ ability to learn and to be productive in the sense of learning things on their own.

4 What kind of classroom management is conducive to learning?


 The classroom management that is conducive to learning is where you can create a supportive learning
environment where the students feel encouraged to participate in the learning process. 8

My Reflection

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed/remembered? Why? Why not?
 Yes. I would like to teach in the school that I observed. The school had indeed good facilities and it is
conducive for learning that will give quality education for everyone.

2. If you are the teacher, how can you make the environment conducive to learning?
 As a future teacher, I will provide an environment where the students feel safe to express oneself and
also embrace failure as a learning moment, an environment that is positive and supportive I will strive
to create an environment that is more conducive to engagement and learning.

3. How do classroom management impact learning?


 Classroom management creates an ideal learning environment. Classroom management is a process
where schools and teachers used to create and maintain the appropriate behaviour of all the students
in the classroom. This kind of management and environment enhances learning as well as the social
and emotional development of the learners.

4. If you are to design a learning environment for your students, how will it look like? Illustrate
 If I were to design a learning environment to my students I will create a positive and supportive
learning environment that addresses learner’s needs and encouraging a student’s involvement in all
activities and build an engaging online environment.
