What do you think is the current trend of Philippine Theatre?

Is there still hope for

Filipino theatre production to achieve its National identity and be source of pride
among ordinary Filipinos? How can you help achieve this aspiration?

The current trend of Philippine Theatre is portraying the life and a story of a
Filipino using the original pinoy music (OPM). I think for me there is still a big hope to
achieve its National identity and be source of pride among ordinary Filipinos, because
personally I as a big fan of theatre here in the Philippines I have seen a lot of beautiful
original stories of the Philippine theatre like “Eto Na! Musikal nAPO" a musical play that
use music from the pinoy group Apo hiking Society, there is also "Ang Huling El Bimbo"
a musical play also that used song from the local band Eraserheads. We do have a lot
of plays that are inspired my OPM. We also have straight plays here in South Cotabato
that are produce by the Apat sa Taglamig Performance Art Theatre, the plays that
Filipino theatre produce give us beautiful and inspiring stories that truly can be a pride
among ordinary Filipinos. I think I can help achieve this aspiration by actually
promoting our own theatre and continuing to support them by watching it. We may be
hindered by the pandemic to watch live the original plays of Philippines but we can
actually help them by watching some of the available plays that is streaming online now.
