Insulating glass units shall comply with BS 5713, Glass thickness and type shall be selected, using the recommendations given in BS £6262 to wihstand the Calculated design wind pressure. Glazing gaskets shall be of neoprene complying with type 2 of BS 4255: Part 1,cured of tuncured epdm, or PVC. Prelocmed mastic tapes may be used as an alternative to a gasket on the rebate side of the glass in beaded glazing systems, ‘The design of door leaves and side screens shall be such that hey can be glazed in accordance with BS 6262. Relazing of side screens shall be possible without the need to remove the framing from the structure o rom the sublrame. Glass in doors and side panets shall be selected to meet the recommendations for saety dive in BS 6262, “The weathertightness of doors and side screens is classified according to he exposure categories given in Table 1.The tests shall be in accordance with clauses 92 to 84. For the wind resistance tests the door and scroan shal be glazed with glass of a type and thickness complying wath the recommendations of BS 6262, ‘The tests shall be performed in the folowing sequence: (@) air permeability (0) watertighiness (c) wind resistance to P2 pressure (postive pressure fst, folowed by negalive pressure) (@) repeat air permeabilty (6) repeat water tightness. Doors and side screens shall be tested in accoréance with B'S 5368: Part 1,with the pressure applied tothe outside face ofthe door, or door and screen only. ‘The airflow passing through the door, expressed as an average leakage rale per metre {enath of opening joint visible on the inside face ofthe specimen, shall be below the limits shown in figure 3,forthe appropriate class as given in Table 1.
