Chemical Spill and Splash Handling

Overview:

Chemical spills and splash are far more common occurrences than the public generally
realizes. Chemical spills and splash can cause acute and chronic detrimental health and
environmental effects. However, having a well planned chemical spill and splash
handling team and procedure can save the cost???. This training module is designed for
individuals who are involved in chemical handling at workplace and hazard
management (HAZMAT) team who are delegated for chemical spill and splash handling
responsibilities.

can cause acute and chronic detrimental health and environmental effects. This risk can be
identified, controlled and minimise by adopting the well planned chemical spill and splash
handling procedure which save the cost. (How it can save the cost). This training module
is designed for individuals who are involved in chemical handling at their workplace
and hazard management (HAZMAT) team who are delegated for chemical spill and
splash handling responsibilities.

Objective:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

 Demonstrate the fundamentals of safe handling of chemical (SHOC)


 understand the legislative requirements and standards on SHOC
 understand the adverse effects of chemical spill and splash
 prepare and execute chemical spill and splash handling plan according to
workplace requirement
