Change is a continuous process

THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM on 20th Oct 2020 identified that,

84% of jobs hiring process could change in defining to hire new permanent
staff with skills relevant to new technologies of an individual by 2025.
Skill Development
• The growing skill gap can hinder the economic progress of the nation. The growth
of various sectors depends on the skilled workforce and minds in the domain.
• The largest drawback that India faces today is the inadequate vocational training in
the sectors.
Skill Development
India is facing a lot of challenges keeping in view the current
infrastructure and the policy framework.

The challenges faced in skill development have been discussed below:

Insufficient
capacity

Mobilisation

Scalability

Skills
Mismatch
Skill Development Stake Holders

Mutual efforts and contribution from the stakeholders can help to bridge the skill gap.
• Government agencies such as Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship,
NSDC, ASDC, etc.
• Industries
• Academia
• Agencies like IESA & ARAI Academy
• Corsortium like TPOs Consortium
• Educational and training institutes
• Students, trainees and job seekers.
Skill Development Cell
• The All India Council of Technical Education(AICTE) is the authority determining
the future and prospects of Engineering education in the country.
• Skill Development Cell of AICTE has been entrusted the responsibility to train youth
by providing them skills.
• Major schemes are-
• Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana for Technical Institutes (PMKVY-TI),
• Employability Enhancement Training Programme (EETP),
• National Employability Enhancement Mission (NEEM),
• AICTE-Startup Policy,
• Skill Assessment Matrix for Vocational Advancement of Youth (SAMVAY),
• Leadership Development Programs, etc.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry
of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) implemented by National Skill
Development Corporation. The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable
a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help
them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills
will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

About eBAJA
SAEINDIA launched the e-Baja (Electric Baja)
competition in 2015 by initiative of our OC and late
Ex- President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam based on their
discussion regarding sustainable mobility.

Mission Statement:
• Motive is to encourage students for solving a
problem statement by designing and manufacturing
an electric ATV by felicitating the best performance.
• Through this event, it bridges gap between
theoretical knowledge of students and practical
Industrial application
• e-Baja provides a platform to leverage the onset of
electric mobility in India.
• Future is Electric : e-BAJA is one step towards 30%
EV Penetration by 2030 and 100% EV Penetration
by 2047.
