How To Know
if you should toss it
It's old. And not the cool "vintage" old. More like, "it's
expired, it's completely worn out, it doesn't work anymore, I
never used it" kinda of old.

I might need it one day (but you won't). This is the most
common reason we keep stuff. I just MIGHT need it. I
challenge you to try to think about it differently. If you
haven't used it in the last 1-2 years, do you REALLY need it?

It's broken. The truth is, if you really cared about fixing this
item, don't you think you would have done it by now?

It doesn't fit your style. Lots of things go out of style. Sure,

fashion, of course. We don't need to hang on to out-of-style
clothing or accessories. But also things like home decor,
holiday decor, beauty products, and even kitchen items. If
it's not something you'd want to buy now, then it's time to
reconsider it.

It doesn't serve you. We can end up with "stuff" and

sometimes it hard to even know where it came from. Is this
product actually adding value to your life in anyway? Is it
loved? Is it used? Is it valued?
Tips for What To Do
With Your Decluttered Stuff
Throw it Away
Recycle what you can. Earth911 has a helpful resource on
finding out how to recycle all sorts of stuff.
Call your local town dump to see what they take for recycling.
If it's just actual garbage, consider a large waste pick-up if
needed. Most local waste management companies do it. You
can also order a Bagster.

Donate it
Don't spend too much time worrying about where to donate, the goal
is to get it out of your house.
Local Goodwill or Salvation Army
Amazon's Give Back Box
Find a list of donation services that will pick-up here,

Sell it
Use a local consignment store
Facebook Marketplace
LetGo or OfferUp if you're in a larger city
Poshmark
Ebay
Craigslist
Have a garage sale

Just pass it along

Maybe someone you know needs it. Or, list it for free on Facebook
Marketplace. Or, just put it at the end of your driveway with a free
sign, this has worked for me everytime.
