Virtualization of Science Instruction in Public Senior High Schools in Batangas: An Analysis

Over the past few decades, there has been a radical shift in the aims and techniques of
science instruction in biology since “Problem-based learning” has effectively arisen, where a
problem to be answered as part of the teaching course rather than only facts to be learned.
Online learning and immersive instruction are developing as new pathways for science and
engineering education, hastening the global distribution of educational services. Distance
education and online learning methods, in particular, have been seen to be more successful in
resource-constrained developed countries, where the number of students far outnumbers the
available well-experienced teachers or fully equipped educational institutes and laboratories.
The vast open online courses for science, engineering, and technology education have gained
widespread acceptance in many countries, despite some significant flaws in terms of graduation
rates and willingness to access the general public, as well as non-traditional and marginalized
learners.
