"M-My beloved g-granddaughter w-was framed. There is no proof of the crime.
P-Please show us m-mercy,
our great L-Lord'. A frail elder man pleaded once again as tears rolled down the corners of his wrinkled, creased eyes. The man's distraught face reconnected to the cold and hard floor. For a few moments, dramatic wail and hiccups echoed the Hashimotos' clan council room.
"Raise your head," a voice boomed, coming from the back center of the room. This honorable man on the throne was known for being the forty-five lord, rightfully inherited from father to son policy. Unlike his cruel forefathers, he was known for his kindness, compassion, and wisdom.
They're blessed to have a great ruler for this situation.
Rubbed his callous finger on his chin as he thought of a solution. He acknowledges, the evidence that was against her was flimsy and had many plot holes. He couldn't set her free either, without hardcore proof of her innocence. In his heart, he could never live with executing a blameless soul.
Suddenly a lightbulb flashed in his mind. "How about if I rearranged things?" Secretly hoped, the older man on the floor would halt the crying. "With no bloodshed," he steadily added.
The man's face perked up immediately from his wishes heard. He lifted himself slowly as hope shined and sparked in his drench eyes. He smirked with glee that this proposal would save his one and only precious granddaughter's life.
Before the ruler can continue with the plan, he was interrupted.
"-But Lord Satoshi, do not rearrange this. This young woman deserves it." Haruka, a sturdy council member who protested with crossed arms across his chest, added more courage to the rest of the members in the room to speak even louder than he was previously was.
"Indeed!"
"End her life!"
"This is a despicable crime!"
Satoshi's dark brows pulled together as more and more noblemen hit him with more reasons why there should be punishment. It was disrespectful to interrupt the ruler during his speech, but they didn't care.
He already had enough. "Silen-,'' another harshly stomped his foot onto the ground like a child during a temper- tantrum. Reminded the ruler how very mature he was for his young age as he compared the ages in the room.
"Lord Satoshi-"
"No." Satoshi closed his eyes shut as he stood up. Since no nobleman wants to hear him out, he still has the power to do whatever he pleases with the snap of two fingers.
Including sentencing without any death associated.
And her punishment, banishment from this little region.
