Lyrebird Park provides the facilities and equipment for the benefit of the user groups. It is the objective of all
individuals to exercise care in the use of the facilities and equipment. It is the responsibility of each group to
ensure that their campers and visitors understand and follow the Camp rules for their own safety and well being.
Each Group must have a competent leader in charge to liase with the camp Manager. Lyrebird Park recommends a
ratio of one leader to ten campers. The group leader
is responsible for camper supervision at all times.
DAILY DUTIES - The camp is to be maintained in a clean state by all the campers. Fully Catered Camps are to
provide duty groups to assist in setting, clearing and cleaning duties in the dining room and other daily duties as
set by the manager. Self-Catered Camps are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all the facilities
including the bathrooms, accommodation, meeting rooms etc during the duration of the camp and up to departure.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE - Campers must not enter the camp prior to the allocated time and must depart by the
allocated departure time. The group leader needs to assemble all their campers as soon as possible after arrival to
enableThe Manager to give a safety briefing . If this is not possible, then it is the responsibility of the group leader
to convey the safety briefing to all the campers and their visitors, according to the Manager’s direction. Off-site
excursions – Please notify the manager before venturing out as part of our safety procedures.
DAY/PART TIME VISITORS - For security purposes, it is the responsibility of the group leader to notify the manager of any day or
part time visitors to the camp prior to the commencement of and during the period of hire of the camp. Charges apply.
MINIMUM NUMBERS - A minimum charge will apply unless prior negotiation is made with the manager.
BEHAVIOUR – Noise/Music must be kept to a reasonable level after 10.30 pm. Campers are reminded to respect each other,
personal and other people’s property and the environment. Any abusive behaviour, language or attitude is not acceptable.
FIRST AID - The camp hirer is responsible for their own first aid – this includes assessing the first aid needs of their group,
providing their own first aid equipment and trained staff and during conduct of specialised activities by campsite staff
onsite/offsite. The camp hirer will also reimburse Lyrebird Park for any first aid supplies used from the campsite’s First aid Kit.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
• PROCEDURES – Emergency procedure notices are posted in the main buildings and campers should make themselves familiar
with the arrangements.
• EQUIPMENT – All accommodation buildings, dining/meeting rooms have smoke detectors which must not be removed or
tampered with. Fire extinguishers are located near main building entrance/exits –which must not be removed or tampered with
unless in a fire emergency
• CAMP FIRES – Subject to Fire Restrictions and with permission from Manager. To be lit only in the designated campfire area and
to be extinguished properly. A competent leader must supervise campers while the campfire is lit. Use Only fallen dead timber
from the forest . DO NOT USE Cut Fire Wood for Combustion Heaters.
PROPERTY
• DRINKING WATER – Tank Water -ONLY from TAPS in All Accommodation & Hall Buildiings & Drinking fountain –Short Showers
OTHER EXTERNALTAPS – NOT FOR DRINKING !
• DAMAGE AND LOSS – Any breakages, damages and losses to camp property or equipment are to be reported
immediately to the manager –Especially if any of these are likely to cause a hazard to anyone’s safety and well
being. Unless due to normal wear and tear, they will be charged to the final account. The safety and use of any type of
equipment brought by the group and any loss or damage to personal property shall remain the responsibility of the group.
• ALCOHOL – Restricted alcohol may be brought for personal consumption and only consumed at main meal times and with
prior approval of the Manager.The group Leader is responsible for managing the group and the group automatically waives its
right to any type of claim, arising from the use/consumption directly or indirectly of alcohol.
• ILLEGAL DRUGS AND SUBSTANCES – Not Permitted on the campsite property. The group automatically waives its right to
any type of claim, arising from the use/consumption directly or indirectly of any drugs/medication.
• PARKING – All vehicles must be parked only in the designated car park area and are strictly at the owner’s risk. DO NOT PARK
ON GRASS/LAWN.
• THE ENVIRONMENT – The campsite is a Land For wildlife sanctuary for flora or fauna. No camper is permitted to bring
firearms, animals or pets onto the property or to disturb the natural environment. Garbage and recyclable materials are to be
placed in designated bins/areas. No littering is permitted.
BUSHWALKING in the forested areas especially during windy/stormy days is STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED.
• SMOKING – Not permitted in any buildings and while activities are in progress. Restricted smoking is only allowed in
designated Areas Cigarette Butts must be extinguished
and placed in designated bins.
• OUT OF BOUNDS AREAS - Manager’s Residence, surrounding private property, workshop, maintenance areas, stables,
arenas, all low and high elements and rope courses, fenced pastures & those with livestock in it, hayshed, dams, garden beds,
boundary fences & any areas/buildings bounded by safety barrier tapes.
• FOOD,& DRINK - not permitted in the accommodation buildings. FOOTWEAR to be left outside bedrooms, to be worn at all
times outside buildings , to be wiped before entering any buildings. Please keep to footpaths/tracks and no running around the
campsite buildings.
• BUNKROOMS/BEDDING –Please BYO – Pillow & cover, Sheets with Sleeping bag or blankets/Doona, Plastic fitted sheet for
bedwetters. BED LINEN HIRE available. Bedwetters , Sleepwalkers and Campers under 6 years old are not allowed
to sleep on top bunks.
