COVID-19 LATEST PROTOCOL CHANGE

In Hospitals:

1- PCR Tests will only apply for Symptomatic patients requiring


Hospitalisation

2- All other cases, Rapid Antigen Test

3- If Rapid Antigen Test, positive, no need for PCR Test


DEFINITION OF FULLY VACCINATED

A person is considered Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 :

1- After 2weeks after his/her second dose

2- Four (4) Weeks after Johnson & Johnson vaccine


DEFINITION OF CLOSED CONTACT WITH SOMEONE
COVID-19 POSITIVE

A person is considered to be in closed contact with someone COVID-19 positive if :

1- The person has been in close contact less than 2metres for a period of 15minutes within 24hrs

2- He/She was not wearing Face Masks during close contact

3- Direct exposure to respiratory secretions ( Eg coughed, sneezed, sharing glasses, utensils, smoking,
kissing..)

4- Caring a person who have COVID-19

5- Living with a person who has COVID-19. Close face-to-face contact ( under 1metre) for any length of
time- including talking to them or coughing on them

Positive Case: Self-Isolation


Who will Self-Isolate at Home:
- COVID-19 Positive Cases
- Under 65yrs
- Fully Vaccinated
- Asymptomatic & Mild Symptoms

How Long Home Isolation:


- 10days
- For Asymptomatic who start to develop symptom within the
10days, call 8924
- After 10days, back to work without ….Medical Certificate

Positive Case: Self-Isolation

How will the Medical Follow-Up of a positive patient in Home


Isolation :
- Under care of Domiciliary Monitoring Unit ( DMU) of MOH
- Will receive first Medical Visit
- Hotline for emergencies will be provided
- 2nd Medical Visit will be once the period of isolation is over
- Resume Normal Activities after isolation
- No test will be done on last day of isolation
- Medical Certificate of Isolation Period will be provided

Close Contact Cases:

For those in Close Contact & Fully Vaccinated as per criteria:

- Self Isolate for 10days & Advise to Contact Health Authorities

- No test needed

- If sign/symptoms manifest within the 10days, call 8924 or


attend Flu Clinic
Leaves Related to COVID-19

The Ministry of Labour has expressed the following views:

• Sick leave is applicable to a person who has been tested


positive of Covid-19 and is in presence of an official test.

• For those who have self-isolate as a precautionary


measure, the employer may withdraw from their annual
leave and a mutual arrangement needs to be reached.
