Narrative
On 12-11-21, at approximately 2335, I was patrolling east bound on Alosta Ave.,
approaching the intersection of Calera Ave., when I saw a black "Tesla" with the
license plate of stopped at the intersection ahead of me. The vehicle was
in the number one lane, facing east bound and made an illegal U-turn and went
west bound. The vehicle made the U-turn despite there being marked signage for
no U-turn. This was in violation of following vehicle codes:
21461 (a) CVC It is unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to fail to obey a sign or
signal defined as regulatory in the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control
Devices, or a Department of Transportation approved supplement to that manual of
a regulatory nature erected or maintained to enhance traffic safety and
operations or to indicate and carry out the provisions of this code or a local
traffic ordinance or resolution adopted pursuant to a local traffic ordinance,
or to fail to obey a device erected or maintained by lawful authority of a
public body or official.
I conducted a U-turn and followed after the vehicle with the license plate of
I saw the vehicle enter the driveway of a "McDonalds" fast food
restaurant (980 E. Alosta Ave) and I followed after it. I turned on my forward
facing solid red light to effect a traffic stop of the vehicle and it continued
forward into the drive through line. Due to another vehicle being in front of
the black Tesla it came to a stop in the drive through lane. Once
the vehicle came to a stop, I walked up to the driver's (who was later
identified as ) window.
exited the vehicle and I attempted to speak with him at the rear of the
black Tesla. Just as I began speaking with , Iniguez exited the vehicle
and began telling that he did not need to answer any of my questions nor
did he have to conduct any field sobriety tests. I informed Iniguez that he
openly admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages and the he was interfering with

Ofc. Arias #1114 arrived to assist me with my traffic stop and I had him stand
with Iniguez while I asked to step to rear of my police vehicle further
away from Iniguez. This was so I could speak with him and conduct my
investigation without interference from him (Iniguez).
During this time that I was speaking with Iniguez continued to yell to
that he did not need to conduct the tests. Due to Iniguez continually
interfering with my investigation, I handcuffed and placed him in the
rear of my patrol vehicle while I dealt with Iniguez.
I could see that his (Iniguez) eyes were bloodshot and watery, he had slurred
speech, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath and
person, he admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages and he was not listening to
commands from officers, I made the decision to arrest Iniguez for public
intoxication.
At some point during this contact, Iniguez claimed he was an attorney. He also
was pointing out the fact that we (officers) did not have body cameras and told
not to believe everything the police were saying.

Iniguez was later released after a sobering period without a citation. A friend
of Iniguez responded to the police department and provided transportation.
At the time of his release, Iniguez stated he was falsely arrested, said he
would see me again and called me "Brady".
