PERSPECTIVE OF MANAGEMENT

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS CONSERVATION OF

NATURAL RESOURCES:
Economics prove that functioning with no reference to natural resources cause
the destruction of the ecological system, which results in eventual collapse of
the economic system. The social responsibility of business is to guard the
monetary system and by implication the larger socio-environmental system
upon which it rests.

Business today also features a responsibility towards the environment - it

cannot keep endlessly extracting resources without consequence.

Natural Resources like air, biodiversity, water, fossil fuels are the building
blocks upon which a successful business is developed. With the rapid
exhaustion of these necessities, business must learn to deal with the threatening
constraint of environmental degradation. Businesses should respect, protect and
make efforts to restore OUR NATURAL RESOURCES.

SOME STEPS THAT CAN BE TAKEN:

 Managing Environmental Impacts: Business should ensure industry-
leading energy cells at each site working towards energy security with
aim to reduce consumption.
 Carbon Abatement and Offsetting: Businesses should enable the large
plants to operate with substantially reduced carbon dioxide emissions
other greenhouse gases. A carbon offset is a decrease in emissions of
carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases made to compensate for
emissions made elsewhere.
 Energy Efficiency of Operations: Business should replace inefficient
equipment with more efficient one, with the goal of reducing energy
consumption.
 Ecosystems and Biodiversity: A business should regularly monitor
impact of its operations on the surrounding ecosystem by conducting
periodic environment impact studies.
 Renewable and Alternative Energy: Business should ensure maximum
use of clean energy in all their operations.
 Water Management: A business can reduce freshwater consumption and
maximising wastewater recycle and minimising external discharge by
deploying various technologies.
 Waste Management: Waste management involves the processes and
actions expected to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal.
