The government has just published a report which suggest that television is partly responsible for the serious
increase in crime over the last ten years. The exposure of violence or pornography harmfully effects on children.

Many people who are alive today know what it is like to live in a world without television. Television as we
know is only about forty years old. Yet it is so much a part of our lives that it seems as if it had always existed.

Some people think that the years before the invention of television were a better time. They claim that families
talked more and did more things together. More books were read. People used their imaginations more fully. People
got more outdoor exercises.

But others disagree. They claim that television is a powerful educational tool. It informs us of what is going on
in the world, from a famine in Africa to a local politics and fashion. It helps us understand how people live, work, and
struggle.

In 1961, Newton Minow, a government official, called prime-time schedules “ a vast wasteland.” Television is
credited with being a great teacher, but it is also blamed for the poor reading and writing skills of our population.
Television gets praised for helping us understand the people of the world. But it has been accused of helping to destroy
family life. Television keeps us informed about the political issues of the day.

Experts will probably continue to argue about television’s value. But everyone agrees that it is one of the most
significant inventions of the twentieth century.

29. Which of the following is advised related to children in watching TV?

Homework has important value for students in learning process. Students need to practice on their own, and
homework is a great way for them to see if they can solve promblems on their own without the teacher’s help.
However, the amount of homework given is important too. Unfortunately, students often get too much
homework.

Too much homework kills that natural desire to learn that kids are born with. Students spend 6-7 hours in
school everyday where they engage in multiple lessons and assignments. By giving them too much homework,
they would no longer enjoy school and learning becomes overwhelming. This school burn-out is the antithesis
to curiousity and it will not lead to schol success.

Homework often impacts sleep. After a long school day, an activity and dinner, kids often take longer to finish
their work than they do in school, as they’re tired from the long day; thus, they go to bed later, losing precious
sleep. This will affect them at school. When they are sleep deprived, their focus and attention drift, making
them more difficult to receive information.

A few alternatives can be implemented to change the students’ way to see the homework. One that is
recommended is night reading. Rather than doing the conventional homework, a reading-only homework
policy can be more enjoyable. It is also beneficial for students who struggle to work on their basic skills.
Turning homework into a class work can also be an alternative to reduce their homework at home. It will also
help them in developing communication and cooperation skills.

35. What is the topic of the text?

B. Students think too much homework is overwhelming
C. Too much homework affects children’s interest in studying
D. Too much homework is not a successful teaching method
E. Students who are given too much homework are not successful

37. “... they engage in multiple lessons and assignments.” (paragraph 2)

Police to allow motorists to use built-in navigation systems

The Jakarta Police have clarified their plan to fine motorists using navigation apps. The police
traffic chief, Sr. Comr. Halim Pagarra, said such practices would not constitute a traffic violation if
motorists used built-in navigation systems.
“It is categorized as a traffic violation if [they use] a GPS app on their mobile phone,” he said

Listening to music and smoking cigarettes, Halim added, were not traffic violations. Halim’s

See You Again
By Ludacris feat. Charlie Puth

It’s been a long day without you my friend And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again
We’ve come a long way from where we began Oh I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again

Damn who knew all the planeswe flew Good things we’ve been through
That I’ll be standing right here Talking to you about another path I
Know we loved to hit the road and laugh But something told me that it wouldn’t last
Had to switch up look at things different see the bigger picture
Those were the days hard work forever pays now I see you in a better place

How could we not talk about family when family’s all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now you gonna be with me for the last ride

It’s been a long day without you my friend And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again
We’ve come a long way from where we began Oh I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again

First you both go out your way And the vibe is feeling strong and what’s
Small turn to a friendship a friendship Turn into a bond and that bond will never
Be broke and the love will never get lost And when brotherhood come first then the line
Will never be crossed established it on our own When that line had to be drawn and that line is what
We reach so remember me when I’m gone

How could we not talk about family when family’s all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side And now you gonna be with me for the last
ride
So let the light guide your way hold every memory As you go and every road you take you will always lead
you home

It’s been a long day without you my friend And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again
We’ve come a long way from where we began Oh I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again When I see
you again
