 Cherating Beach — go to the coasts
Relax on the white-sand beach to enjoy the beauty of the
surrounding.

Cherating Turtle Sanctuary — go to Chendor Beach

Visit between June and October so you can see turtles come ashore
to lay eggs at night. Entrance to the sanctuary is free.

River cruise — go to Cherating river

Go on a river boat cruise up Cherating river to see fireflies. The
cruise takes you along a mangrove forest. The guide will spot a
variety of animals in the forest.

Batik-making — go to a local art centre

A tour of this centre will show you how batik fabric is created.
You can also take courses to learn how to make batik sarong or
handkerchief. There is a shop where you can buy batik souvenirs.

Local souvenirs and food — go to the night market

Head to the beach along Cherating to buy local handicrafts or try local food. There is a night
market in the town of Kemaman where you can shop for a variety of souvenirs too.

Subject: Holiday in Cherating

Dear Amy,

I would like to invite you to join me and my family on a three-day two-night holiday in
Cherating at the end of October. There are some activities that we can do there.

After we reach our destination, we will check in at Sunshine Resort and receive our
welcome drinks. Firstly, we will unpack our luggage and rest in the hotel for some time.
Then, we will spend the evening relaxing on the white-sand beach to enjoy the beauty of
the surrounding. At night, we will watch turtles lay eggs at Chendor beach.

On our second day, we will see how batik fabric is made at a local art centre. We can take
courses to learn how to make batik sarung or handkerchief and buy some batik souvenirs.

Question 1

Alice is my elder sister. She is twelve years old. She always goes to town by bus.

Last Saturday, Alice and her (bosom) friend went to (a bookshop in) town (together).

When their bus came, they boarded it. There was a woman carrying a baby also boarded the

bus.

The bus was (very) crowded. There was no empty seat for the woman. She had to stand

holding onto the handrail. Alice saw that and knew it was (very) (difficult and) unsafe for the

woman. She (quickly) (stood up and) gave up her seat to the woman.

The woman (accepted it gratefully and) praised Alice for her thoughtfulness. Alice was

as happy as a lark because she had done a good deed.

Question 2

Harry and Kelly are siblings. He is two years older than his sister. They love to play

(together) in their garden every evening.

When Harry and Kelly played in the garden Last Sunday evening, they (suddenly) heard

the (soft) barking of a puppy. They searched (everywhere) for the puppy but could not find

it

After a while, Harry and Kelly looked into the drain behind their house. They (finally)

saw the puppy. It was (very) (wet and) dirty. Harry picked it up and they took it home.

(After) Harry and Kelly (reached home, they) bathed the puppy. Then, they fed it with
