System Overview
Parking system is comprised of electronic Parking assist
system and parking image system.
Parking assist system is a monitoring system simulating
principle of bat flying detection for vehicles. Several
ultrasonic parking sensors are mounted on the front or rear
of the vehicle to emit and receive signals and send feedback
to controller for working out distance of the targeted barrier
based on signal return time. Different sounds and alarms are
triggered to alert driver of their distance from the barrier,
thereby enhancing safe and easy reversing and parking.
The parking imaging system is a new technology, shooting a
field of vision not easy to be observed when parking via the
wide-angle camera mounting on the vehicle body, correcting
the image via multimedia display, and for display as
reference to driver to facilitate parking.
1. Parking system is comprised of:
 Parking assist system module
 Sensors(2 in total)
 Multimedia panel
 Multimedia player (flagship/premium)
 Reversing lamp switch
 Camera (reverse parking camera)
 Buzzer
2. Notes for Parking assist system:
(a) Sensor’s detection function may not work under one
of following circumstances:
 Mud or snow clinging to sensor (its function will
recover after washing them off with water).
 Sensor blocked out by the hand.
 Low temperature may cause ice frozen on
sensor and result in malfunction. Sensor
detection range may change under following
PM
circumstances.
 Mud or snow clinging to sensor (its function will
recover after washing them off with water).
 Vehicle is exposed to sunlight or ultra-low
temperature.
 Sensor may have error in detection under one
of following circumstances:
 Vehicle is running on rugged or gravel road or
on grass.
 Interference from other vehicle horn, engine
sounds of motorcycle or pneumatic brake
sounds of heavy-duty vehicles.
 Vehicle running under heavy rain or being
splashed with water.
 Vehicle heavily inclined
 Mud or snow clinging to sensor
 Vehicle has towing hook
 Another vehicle with the sensor approaches
 Vehicle running up slope or turning around a
right-angle kerb.
PM–4 Parking System

(b) Due to the shape, characteristic or materials of the

barrier, sensor may fail to detect if:
 the barrier are linear objects such as wire or
rope
 the barrier is prone to absorb sonic wave, e.g.
cotton or snow.
 the barrier has sharp edges
 the barrier is too low
 the barrier is too high or has protruded upper
part
 the sensor is heavily clashed or impacted
 When the vehicle is too close to stairs, sensor
system cannot correctly measure the distance
of bottom stair case to the tail, resulting in
damage of fender.
(c) Notes for Parking imaging system:
 Prevent hard objects hit the camera, which may
cause damage to the camera.
 Do not use hands or hard cloth to wipe the
camera to avoid damaging the camera and
affecting the image, use water or cleaner to
wash the lens.
(d) If the vehicle is parked in the area with large
temperature change, it may affect the imaging.
The following conditions may cause the image to
be unclear:
 Direct sunlight or light to the camera may cause
image blurs.
 The surrounding is too dark.
 Ambient temperature is too high or too low.
