BI Data Pre-Processing and Data Cleansing:-

Once you have imported data into Power BI is it essential to clean and transform your data before you build any visualizations or reporting. This is an
essential step in building quality visualizations in Power BI. Cleaning and transforming your data enables you to build visualizations from sound and
clean data. When cleaning and transformations are not done dilligently your visualizations will not behave as you expect.

Connect to CSV files in Power BI Desktop:-

(CSV) file from Power BI Desktop is a lot like connecting to an Excel workbook. Both are easy, and this article steps you through how to connect to any
CSV file to which you have access.

Figure 4 Screenshot of importing the data

To start with, from Power BI Desktop select Get Data > Text/CSV from the Home ribbon and click on connect.
Figure 4 Screenshot of selecting the file from file manager

When you select Open, Power BI Desktop accesses the file and determines certain file attributes, such as the file origin, delimiter type, and how many
rows should be used to detect the data types in the file.

These file attributes and options are shown in the drop-down selections at the top of the CSV import dialog window, shown below. You can change any
of these detected settings manually, by choosing another option from any of the drop-down selectors.

Figure 5 data successfully loaded

Once you load the data into Power BI Desktop, you see the table and its columns (which are presented as Fields in Power BI Desktop) in the Fields
pane, along the right of the Report view in Power BI Desktop.
Data Cleaning :-

To transform column data types, in which you transform the current data type to another, select Data Type Text from the Transform ribbon. In Query
Settings, the Applied Steps list reflects any shaping steps applied to the data. To remove a step from the shaping process, select the X to the left of the
step

Removing Null Or Blank Values :-

Remove null or blank values and unused values.

Figure 8 click on Remove blank row and Remove errors

Open the Power BI report that contains a table with empty rows and columns. In the Home tab, click on Transform data. In Power Query Editor, select
the query of the table with the blank rows and columns. In Home tab, click Remove Rows, then click Remove Blank Rows.

2. Removing unused columns :-

We are removing playlists I'd column as it has unused or unreadable values.

such as :- track I'd, artist I'd, album id and playlist name.

Data Modeling:-

Data modelling is one of the four pillars of Power BI report development. It allows you to connect different data tables in your Power BI report by
creating relationships between them. Developing your data modelling skills will greatly improve your reports and outputs.

Adding and managing relationships

The table relationship after creating a new table and splitting table are represented as in Figure 14 and 15.

Calculating Dax Measure :-

Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) is a programming language that is used throughout Microsoft Power BI for creating calculated columns, measures,
and custom tables. It is a collection of functions, operators, and constants that can be used in a formula, or expression, to calculate and return one or
more values.

Publishing Power BI report:-

When you publish a Power BI Desktop file to the Power BI service, you publish the data in the model to your Power BI workspace. The same is true for
any reports you created in Report view. You’ll see a new dataset with the same name, and any reports in your Workspace navigator.

Publishing from Power BI Desktop has the same effect as using Get Data in Power BI to connect to and upload a Power BI Desktop file.
