Markeiting refers to activities a company undertakes
to promote the buying or selling of a product or
services.arketing includes advertising,selling and
delivering products to consumers or other business.
Some marketing is done by affiliates on behalf of a
company.

 Marketing Management:-
Marketing Management is the process and executing
the conception,pricing,promotion and distribution of
ideas,good and services to create exchange that
satisfy individual and organizational goals.
Marketing Mix:-
Marketing Mix refers to the set of action or tactics,
that a company uses to promote its brand or
products in the market. The 4PS make up a typical
Marketing Mix-Price,Product,Promotion and Place
However,nowdays,the marketing mix increasingly
includes serval other Ps like
Pacakaging,Positioning,People and even politics as
vital mix elements.

(1)Uncle Chips:-
Uncle Chips is an Indian potato chip making company
that has been in existence since 1992 and is qwned by
Frito-Lay.Previously, the company was taken over in the
year 2000 by Frito-Lay,a company owned by Pepsi Co.
From its inception all through to 1988,the company
didn’t have any serious competition as it enjoyed at least
71% of the market share.However,there has been a stiff
completion thereafter,something that has lowerd its
market share to just about 30-30%.

(2)Lay’s
Lay’s is a brand of potato chips,as well as the name of the
company that founded the chip brand in the united
states.the brand has also sometimes been referred to as
frito-lays because both lay’s company,which has been a
wholly owned subsidiary of Pepsi since 1965.
(3)Balaji Wafers
Chandubhai and his brothers Bhikhubhai and kanubhai
migrated from a small village Dhun Dhoragi,Kalavad
Talika,Jamnagar District of Gujrat.Their father
Poparhbhai Virani was a farmer,who sold ancestral
agriculture land and gave Rs.20,000 to them to venture
into business.
The Virani’s invested in farmer equipment,but could not
succed and lost the money Kakubhai and his brothers
started a water business from a conteen of a cinema hall
in Rajkot in 1947.Until 1989,the wafers were produced at
the virani’s house and distributed in and around Rajkot
City.In the Initial stage,Balaji wafers set up their plant at
Aji Vasad with a new concept of making potato Chips.The
main benefit they got is the readymade infrastructure
availability due to which their cost was reduced to a large
extent. They operated there for around 22 years.
Balaji Wafers then set up their new fully automatic plant
near Metoda G.I.D.C. which is in the area of the village
vajdi,outside the town of Rajkot.
Balaji share of the local potato and vegetable chips
market grew to 13.7% in 2012,from 9.5% in
2008,according to Euromonitor.Balajialso dominates in
the western market with a share of 90%.the Economic
Times Recognized Balaji Wafers as “Sultan Of Wafers”.
Balaji Wafers is also a member of the snacks Food
Association.

(4)Pringels
Pringels is an amercian brand of stackable potato-based
crisps.originally sold by Proctor and Gamble in 1968 and
marketed as “Pringels’s New fangled Potato Chips”,the
brand was sold in 2012 to the current owners,Kellogg.
As of 2011,Pringels were sold in more than 40
counties.In 2012,Pringels were the fourth most popular
snack brand after Lay’s Doritos and Cheetos with 2.2%
market share globally.
(5)Bingo
The Bingo brand of chips was launched by ITC on 14th
March 2007 with an aim to capture at least 25% market
share of the Rs.2000 cr. Branded snack market within five
years.
This was an extremely ambitious target according to
observe as the market was derminated by the frito-lay
group with a slew of brands like lays,Krukure and Uncle
Chips holding 50% of the market share.The other was the
Haldiram group with 25% of the market share.The
organized snacks category is subdivided into the
traditional segment dominated by Haldiram.The second
category is the western format.The latter two categories
are dominated by the Frito lay group.ITC has launched an
aggressive marketing campaign to gain entry into and
capture a sizeable market share in the extremely
competitive world of snack foods.

children.however,any types of chips manufacturer
must follow the rules of FSSAI registration to take
an FSSAI food license.
According to the FSSAI of india,the FSSAI license is
mandatory for big companies and individual chip
manufacturers to meet their legal
requirement.Only the types of food license is
different for manufacturing units,as a startup or a
small scale one with up to Rs.12 LAKES turnover
yearly has to get a basic license.

However,a medium sized manufacturing unit with


a turnover up to Rs.20 cr. Must get a state
license,while the central FSSAI license is essential
for big chip manufacturing companies,which
supply in diiferent.India cities and have annual
turnover higher than Rs.20Cr.
