THE VIGGINS CURSE

In the center of the king’s vineyard is the smallest forest you’ll

ever see. Barely 100 feet edge to edge, and home to an ever-drunk
halfling named Sandra Viggins, who the king dares not cast out.
King’s Fear
It was fated by an oracle that the fertility of the king’s land is
tied to the presence of the Viggins’, a family of halflings who
lived here long before the forests were cleared for farming.
For generations, a Viggins has been made to live inside
a large hollowed tree in this tiny patch of forest. A guard
posted nearby at all times, with food, wine and other supplies
delivered regularly.

Only one Viggins is required to stay, while the rest live a
life of freedom and great fortune on the gold of the King.
Sandra drew the short straw when her grandfather
died, she protested but ultimately had
no choice but to move in.
After years of failed escape
attempts, Sandra has
resigned herself to a life of
heavy drinking and days
spent making the life of the
royal guards as painful as
possible.
