1. Introduce yourself.

I’m born and bought up in Ranchi. I have done masters in Rural Management from XISS Ranchi
and got campus placement in GoodWeave India (which was founded by Kailash Satyarthi). After
that I have worked with Piramal Foundation and TATA trust. Piramal foundation partnered with
Niti Aayog to improve the 31 indicators of health and Nutrition and TATA Trusts joined hands
with MoWCD to provide technical support to the districts, monitor and supervise the activities
8and reporting of National Nutrition Mission aka Poshan Abhiyan (launched on 8 th march 2018.

2. Why do you think you’re the best fit for this position (AMBF)?
 As I have worked with district administration in Bokaro, I have good understanding of the
district and health, education infrastructure. I have experience of working in two Aspiration
districts of Jharkhand.
 I have helped the department of Social Welfare in preparing and finalizing the Annual Action
Plan (Convergence) for both state and district.
 I have made innovation plan for the district which got improved by the state.
 I have experience in arranging and providing training to the field functionaries (ILA).
 I have experience in strengthening of VHSND and VHSNC.
 I have experience in monitoring the dashboard (Poshan Abhiyan).
 I have experience in establishing convergence at both district and block level with line
departments.

3. What is your understanding about anaemia?

Anaemia is a medical condition in which red blood cells count or the haemoglobin is less than
normal. In men, Anaemia is typically defined as haemoglobin level is less than 13 grams/100ml
and in women as haemoglobin of less than 12 grams/100ml.

AMB is a flagship program of MoHFW launched on March 2018 under Poshan Abhiyan with aim
to reduce Anaemia by 3 % per year between 2018 and 2021.

4. What new can be done to reduce anaemia?


 Early identification of Anaemia. (Organizing testing camps )
 Focusing more on adolescent (Counselling and tracing of IFA consumption)
 Focusing on first 2000 days 1000 (From pregnant to birth of a child
 Awareness regarding its prevention and cure.
 Ensure Regular supply of IFA tablet
 Ensure timely consumption of IFA tabs
 Strengthening of monitoring mechanism

5. Who will be the key stakeholders?


 District and block administration
 Frontline workers
 Development Partners
6. What will be your strategy to reduce anaemia?
 Test (haemoglobin meter)
 Treat (IFA tablet, Deworming and referral)
 Talk ( Counselling: healthy lifestyle, food habit eating iron, protein and Vitamin C rich food)
P.S: Additionally we can work in strengthening the existing services and infrastructures.

7. Prevalence of anaemia in Jharkhand and Bokaro.


 Children 69.9 % (JH), 74% (Bokaro)
 Women 65.2% (JH), 72.4% (Bokaro)

 Established Convergence at district level.
 Successfully conducted all activities of Poshan Maah (Bokaro Among top 5 in Jharkhand).
 Got letter of appreciation from the top management.
