TREE PLANTING SA BUWAN NG WIKA

2017-2018

Planting tree is one of the methods used for carbon mitigation. Accordingly, the

carbon sequestration capacity of the tree is generally much faster on its early age, this

is one the reason why tree planting is highly encouraged. Another reason is that the

school is located in a slope that is why we need to plant more trees around the school

campus.

The Balligui High School supports the the advocacy of the Department of

Environment and Natural Resources on National Greening Program through a tree

planting activity. This activity is a year round program of the school. First we

requested seedlings from the said office and requested the head of the school to

allow us to conduct the tree planting just after the program of the Buwan ng Wika.

The tree planting activity started exactly at 1:00 pm. Selected students from each

section joined the said activity. Some Sagguniang Kabataan Officers of the Barangay

also helps in planting the 150 seedlings of mahogany. Cleaning and monitoring the

growth of the plants were also conducted to ensure the 100% survivor of the plants.
