COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to provides students with an understanding of procurement


process and different types of contracts currently employed in the industry. The
course aims to equip students with knowledge that covers tendering procedures,
preparation of tender documents,procurement procedures, contract management and
administration. Students are also exposed to the theoretical and practical knowledge
of procurement and contract strategies, methods and management processes
throughout the life cycle to achieve project deliverable.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Student will be able to

 Describe the fundamental elements of a contract, including basic terms and


conditions
 Demonstrate the various linkages in the procurement cycle, and equips students
with the knowledge and skill required to manage procurement and contract
effectively.
 Know the fundamentals of contract formation including the drafting of 
solicitations, evaluation of  quotes and offers, and awarding of contracts
 Examine issues and trends in the industry, and corresponding developments in
contract administration and procurement management
 Design tools to measure procurement performance and the role contract
management plays in the procurement function

 Evaluation of contract performance.
