EUROMAP 63 Host Communication

1. Overview
This EUROMAP 63 host communication is a communication control specification on the injection molding
machine(IMM) side based on the "EUROMAP 63 data exchange interface, Version 1.05a" devised by the
Technical Commission of EUROMAP and SPI. (Reference, http://www.euromap.org)
To use this communication specification, you need to prepare EUROMAP 63-compatible host side management
system and LAN equipment. By using such a host side management system available from venders, quality
management and production management can be made.

3. Communication Start
(1) Preparation
1) Establish a LAN connection (Local Area Network) that is needed for communication.
2) Prepare information, such as the IP address, host name, share name, and session path,
that is needed for communication between the host computer and the IMM.
3) Set the prepared information on the screen of the IMM.
4) Turn EUROMAP 63 to ON, so that communication can be started
Note;
If the power of the IMM is turned off, “JOB response completion notice”
cannot be written in the JOB response file.

(2) Process of control system on host computer side

1) Communication starts by storing a session requesting file into the session path.
2) You need to use SESS0000.REQ ~ SESS9999.REQ for file names.
3) A multiple number of session requesting files can be stored at the same time.
4) When you use a different control system together with EUROMAP 63,
allocate the different session files:
for example, SESS0001.REQ~19 for System A, and SESS0020.REQ~29 for System B.
5) You can recognize the start of communication by the session response files (SESS0001.RSP~).
6) Store JOB files beforehand that will be demanded by the session requesting file.
7) Program execution state is stored in the JOB response file (or LOG file) appointed
by the JOB file.
8) The data from the IMM is written in the host computer according to the command and
DATA file name directed by the JOB file.

(3) JOB file Extensions

In EUROMAP 63 specifications, one JOB file can accommodates only one command (except for SET
command).
But in this communication control, EUROMAP 63 is extended so that one JOB file can accommodate
multiple commands.
Commands are executed sequentially but not simultaneously.
Note : This extension cannot be used with IMMs made by other companies. Even if you abort the currently
executing command, remaining command is initiated.

(4) REPORT command PATAMETER tokens
When you appoint the token of the monitored data, set a monitor No. on the MONITOR ITEM screen.
During automatic operation, the same values as those of the monitored data are output. While the machine is
not in automatic operation, measured values may be output in some cases.
Monitor item direct specification
If you appoint @ActDateTime at PARAMETERS items, date and time are acquired in the form of
"yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss".
If you appoint @ActTmon01-32 at PARAMETERS items, you can acquire the data of the same item as that
on the Monitor screen.

(5) Command commonness

START/STOP/IF clause make a judgment according to EUROMAP 63 specification.
STOP judgment is made after START judgment is made. When conditions are established at the same time,
judgment is made one second after next cycle is started.
In case of STOP judgment, data are not output.
Even if you appoint measured value of the machine at START/STOP judgment, judgment is not correct
because judgment is made every one second.
In IF CHANGE / IF NOT CHANGE, the data for the first cycle cannot be recorded.

(6) REPORT command

A title line is added at the first cycle. A title line is also added when REPORT file is deleted on the host side.

(7) EVENT ALARMS command

You can acquire alarm generation history.
The same contents as those of the Alarm History screen are output.

(8) EVENT CURRENT_ALARMS command

You can acquire the alarm that is currently on display.
The same alarm as that currently on the screen is output.

(9) EVENT CHANGES command

You can acquire setting changing history.
The same contents as those of SETUP RECORD screen are output. Changes on the FIXED DATA screen
are not Output(except for some values).
During downloading, the message "DOWNLOAD FROM HOST" is output.
During loading of conditions on the IMM’s screen, the message "DATA MEMORY LOAD" is output.

13. Remarks
(1) These specifications are communication control specifications based on EUROMAP63 Data Exchange
Interface ,Version 1.05a. Items not described in this document shall be discussed separately.
(2) Some tokens described in EURPMAP63 cannot be handled by these specifications. ( See 6-(2) 9-(2) .)
(3) After you complete the setting of this communication connection, you need to turn the machine power
OFF and ON, so that your setting becomes effective.
(4) You cannot change molding conditions using SET command from the host computer.
(5) In setting of character strings of SET command, you can use ASCII characters only.
You cannot use symbols, such as /:,;*?<>|.
(6) Do not change uploaded condition files, or the files cannot be downloaded anymore.
(7) When you refer to the data file of REPORT/EVENT, use the system with READ open.
Do not lock the file. When data file writing is made on the molding machine side, WRITE opening
is made every line. If WRITE opening is failed, retry is made. In the case that retry is failed 20 times
(about 20 seconds), REPORT/EVENT is stopped in error.
(8) To monitor the status of the IMM, request the job only once as described in the specification
eu63.pdf 3.14.3. Since EUROMAP63 is based on the premise that JOB resides, a thread is
created / started every time a JOB is issued. Requesting the same JOB repeatedly (eg every
10 seconds) may cause memory shortage.
