The TAS method：

T + A + S = transcription + analysis + summarization

听抄：放一段话，
尽量写出里面所
有单词。
分析段落，列出 只看树形图说、
1. 不能单个单 逻辑关系树形图。 写出段落大意。
词听写。
2. 不能单句听
写。

How is TAS done? 7 steps. 1-4 for transcription.

1. 挑段落
2. 挑生词
3. 第一遍听大意：1.0*1
4. 第2-6遍：0.75*5。无间断播放录音，边听边写出第一时间能反应出的单词，包括
标点符号。每两遍之间有10秒停顿，补充答案。最后一遍结束后10分钟时间检查错
误，红色笔补充答案。
5. 分析文章，画文章结构图。
6. 看图总结。
7. 听原文。

Transcript

Alternatively, it has also been suggested that some animals strand accidentally by
following their prey ashore in the confusion of the chase. In 1995 David Thurston monitored
pilot whales that beached after following squid ashore. However, this idea does not seem
to hold true for the majority of mass stranding because examination of the animals’
stomach contents reveal that most had not been feeding as they stranded.

Example of summary

In this part the speaker introduces another reason for stranding which is
hunting for food and getting lost in the middle of confusion. An
experiment conducted in 1995 seems to support this assumption, but it is
denied by other studies with further experiments.
