PART1-GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Description:
x Provide a complete and functional grid-connected photovoltaic system as specified. The system shall
include mounting structures, photovoltaic cells, inverter(s), disconnects, combiner box, grid tie,
metering, and all wire and conduits.
x Installing contractor shall receive, place, connect, and mount all equipment specified in this Section
per the manufacturer’s instructions. Installing contractor shall furnish all hardware, wire, conduit,
connectors, and other necessary items as required for a complete and functional operation.
x The system shall consist of an array of photovoltaic modules with aluminum frames designed for
grouping on racks, terminal and combiner box(es), quick-connect electrical connectors, DC wiring,
DC disconnect, grid-connected inverter(s), AC disconnect, and a data acquisition and monitoring
system (DAS) and isolation transformer, as specified in final project specifications. The inverters
shall be wired to the building’s electrical system.
x The actual orientation and tilt of the array shall be optimized based upon computer studies for the
specific project location and its associated weather data and sun patterns. Provide design analysis and
installation recommendations for optimum output and energy savings.
B. Work included
x Provide engineering, labor, materials, and accessories required to furnish, install, start up, and
commission complete operating solar photovoltaic systems. Labor, materials, or accessories not
specifically called for in the Contract Documents, but required to provide a complete operating
system shall be provided without additional cost to the Owner.
Determine, coordinate, and incorporate the design and construction requirements of the Architect,
Structural Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, General Contractor, and other
x Subcontractors.
x Civil work (grouting) for PV structure. Also anti-corrosive material must be used for mounting
structure for SPV plant.
x AC – DC Distribution cables and grounding system shall be the responsibility of the Tenderer to
provide desired distribution and grounding system.

1.3 ACTIONSUBMITTALS
1.3.1. GENERAL:
Submit the necessary complete sets of documentation indicating type, size, rating, style, catalog
number, Manufacturers names, photographs and / or catalog data sheets for all items to ensure
compliance with Specifications. This documentation shall be subject to the approval of the
Engineer and no equipment shall be ordered without his approval for all equipment and devices,
which are shown on documents (drawings, BOQ, etc). Any document submitted by the contractor
during the tender stage shall not be considered as technical submittal, it shall be used only to
approve the manufacture name. During technical submittal stage, contractor shall submit all
required technical document for study and approval. This study may drive to reject a vendor had
been previously approved during the tender stage.
Submit a study, which evaluates and determines the best orientation and slope of the solar panel
arrays. The study shall examine and evaluate the associated energy production (kWh) for various
orientations and slope. Study shall include average bi-annual (summer and winter) energy
production. Study shall take into consideration the adjacent obstructions and typical local weather
conditions such as typical occurrences of fog or high clouds. In the condition that all panel arrays
are not all in the same orientation, the study shall address any impacts this may have on the
overall system performance.
Submit the following in accordance with Conditions of the Contract and Division-1 Specification
Sections:
A. Operatingandmaintenanceinstructions.
A. Receive, handle and store materials in conformance with the manufacturers printed instructions.
B. Stock products under protection cover, in manufacturer's unopened packaging until the
installation’s start.
C. Stock supplies in a locations in accordance to manufacturer’s guidelines. Protect materials from
exposure to moisture.
D. Roof Placement: Avoid overloading the roof structure by spreading the bundles and crates.
Recommended location is over major supports such as beams (girders) or trusses.
1.3.6. SEQUENCING
A. Confirm that appropriate information required for installation of products of this section are
well-appointed in time to avoid interruption of construction.
B. Confirm that products of this section are provided in time to avoid interruption of construction

1.3.8. WARRANTY
A. The system shall be warranted as specified in the purchase agreement, but shall be noless than
one year from the time of acceptance. The Solar Photovoltaic systemmanufacturer shall
replace or repair any defective parts within the first year of operationat no extra cost.
B. The photovoltaic panels shall be covered by the photovoltaic manufacturer’s warranteefor a
minimum of 25 years, and shall be passed through the supplier to the customer.
C. The inverter shall be covered by the manufacturer’s warrantee for a period of not lessthan five
years, and shall be passed through the supplier to the customer.

x The fabricated material (stands, bracket etc.) should be Anodized Aluminum Alloy having
suitable thickness according to requirement of the site conditions.
x The fabricated frames must be made hot dip Galvanized Iron with FRP coating on it with
Stainless Steel (S.S.304) nut-bolts having brush /hairline finish quality.

needed accessories for complete installation.
AC cables
x Multi core power cables, with stranded copper conductors PVC insulated and PVC sheathed , 0.6
/ 1kv(CU/XLPE/ PVC), four core up to 35 sq.mm ,four core with reduced neutral above
35sqmm.
x Multi core power cables, with stranded aluminum conductors PVC insulated and PVC sheathed ,
0.6 / 1kv(AL./XLPE/ PVC), four core up to 35 sq.mm ,four core with reduced neutral above
35sqmm(if any).
Cable race way:
x Provide metal conduit, boxes, fittings, cabinets, gaskets and covers for all conduit installations.
The conduit bodies, boxes, fittings, cabinets and covers shall be hot-dipped galvanized steel
unless otherwise specified, with threaded hubs, and sufficient size to provide free space for all
conductors that shall be enclosed.
x Metal conduits shall be rigid galvanized steel (RGS) heavy gauge not less than 20 mm diameter
conforming to BS 4568 or IEC 60614, 1035 to ANSI Standard C 80.1. PVC conduits will not be
permitted. The surfaces and threads shall be corrosion-resistant coated. All RGS conduit joints
shall be threaded using standard tapered thread. Each conduit length shall be furnished with a
coupling and a thread protection cap.
x Pull and junction boxes shall be of the same material and manufacturer as conduits
x All cable trunking shall be Metal trunking made of hot dipped galvanized after fabrication sheet
steel with screw-on covers to BS4678.
PART3-EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Inspect installation region to validate the project can be completed in agreement with the
drawings and structural calculations with no interruption from other equipment or trades.
B. Do not start installation till drawings and calculations have been accurately prepared.
C. If planning is the duty of alternative installer, notify Architect of unacceptable planning before
proceeding.
