Course Description
HRM is a growing concept in today’s competitive world. Human resource policies and practices are
being perfectly embedded in the corporate culture. All management students, therefore, need to be
taught the foundations of HRM. This course is a complete comprehensive review of essential Personnel
Management concepts and techniques practiced in leading organizations.

Course Objective
1. This course will help students to understand the scope of HRM. 2. They will learn how to link HR
strategy with the organizational strategy. 3. They will become familiar with important functions such as
recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and benefits, and performance
management system. 4. Students will understand the ethical, social and legal responsibilities of
managers.

Learning Outcomes
LO1.Able to identify and design recruitment and selection processes and evaluate current job analysis
methods. LO2 develop the job description and job specification. LO3 Evaluates and design the training
and development programs. LO4 categorize different compensation methods and benefits. Lo5 Design
simple performance appraisal system for organization.

Attendance Policy
Prompt arrival and regular attendance are extremely important. For Academic policy refer to student
handbook for policies on late entry, maximum absences allowed, leave application etc.
