General measures:
W27.01 General good hygiene and housekeeping (regular cleaning etc.)
W27.02 Personal hygiene (no eating, drinking and smoking in contaminated areas)
Ventilation:
W17.01 Local exhaust ventilation systems where energy is required to ensure that

W20.01 Dilution ventilation (Flow of air into and out of a working area so that contaminants are
diluted by adding fresh air)
Hand protection:
W29.01 Chemical resistant protective gloves

3. Exposure estimation and reference to its source

3.1 Environment
A qualitative approach has been used as PNEC values could not be properly derived. The substance has a
very low water solubility (<0.01 mg/L) and a very high octanol-water partition coefficient (log Kow>7.56).
Therefore the bioavailability and the bioaccumulation potential, which decreases with increasing log Kow,
will be low. If the above technical measures are taken into account, risks to environmental compartments are
deemed to be negligible.
3.2 Worker / Consumer
No occupational exposure estimations and risk characterizations have been performed as the substance is
found to be not hazardous to human health.

Note: The measures reported in this section have not been taken into account in the exposure estimates related to the
exposure scenario above. They are not subject to obligation laid down in Article 37(4) of REACH. Thus, the

these measures.

2.2 Control of worker exposure
Although the substance is found to be not hazardous to human health, the recommendations as given in the
ETRMA (European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers Association) General Rubber Goods manufacturing GES
(version 1.1) using the CEFIC Risk Management Measures Library Codes should be followed.
General measures:
W27.01 General good hygiene and housekeeping (regular cleaning etc.)
W27.02 Personal hygiene (no eating, drinking and smoking in contaminated areas)
Dilution ventilation during extrusion:
W20.01 Dilution ventilation (Flow of air into and out of a working area so that contaminants are
diluted by adding fresh air)
Ventilation control during curing:
W18.01 Receptor hood (Extraction of contaminant at source by use of air pulled through one or
more fixed points of extraction) or W19.01 Push pull systems (Combination of positively displaced air
used to capture and push contaminants towards a balanced extraction ventilation system) and/or W20.01
Dilution ventilation (Flow of air into and out of a working area so that contaminants are diluted by
adding fresh air).
Limiting concentration and change of physical state (if appropriate):
CW1.06 Dilution by user prior to application
CW2.01 Control of physical form (product design, under control of the producer and
therefore applicable for quantitative considerations: e.g. tablets vs. powder, or inclusion in
matrices)
