IIT Kharagpur
December 31, 2021
In view of the sudden increase in number of Covid-19 infection cases in the
Halls of Residence in recent times and arrival of close to three thousand
students in IIT Kharagpur Campus during 26-30th December 2021 slot, there
will be ‘Self-imposed Hall Curfew’ to be observed in all Halls of Residence
during the period from 6:00 pm on 31.12.021 to 6:00 am on 03.01.2022.

During Hall Curfew any students’ gathering in wings, corridors, open ground,
common room etc inside a Hall is not permitted to Celebrate New Year 2022.

Movements of eligible students inside in Dining Hall may also be planned in

batches so as to ensure Covid-related safety protocols.

No separate exemption is given to the Research Scholars in general. However,

a Research Scholar on extreme urgency of attending Laboratory for few hours,
will write an email highlighting his/her need to the Warden of the Hall,
keeping Supervisor also in loop. After getting consent from the Supervisor,
Warden may permit the scholar for few hours to visit his/ her Laboratory.

In view of the above, the Hall Lockdown (with inter-Hall movement

restrictions) is also extended upto 6:00 am 03.01.2022.

Warden’ Teams will visit Halls to ensure above guidelines are followed in all
Halls.

All concerned are advised to cooperate with the authority and minimize the
risk of spreading the virus in students’ community further.
