Software Installation

Each participant should have Laptop OR Desktop equipped with:

• Operating System - Windows: 10/8/7/Vista OR Mac: OS X 10.7 & higher.

• Storage - Windows: 8 GB RAM OR Mac: 4 GB RAM

• Browser - Internet Explorer 11 and Edge or Chrome 50 or Safari 8 and 9 or Firefox 44

and 45 (or any Latest version)

• Enable Flash for Google Chrome (used to view video files on JLC)

• OpenRefine (http://openrefine.org)

• mySQL https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/ (most recent version)

• Tableau Public (https://public.tableau.com/en-us/s/)

• Python (Anaconda): (http://www.anaconda.com/download). Choose the 3.6

• Base R (3.5) - Latest Version https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/ R Studio

Note: “You have to install Base R first and then R Studio. “

Packages for R Studio

Internet access is required for participants to install R package hosted on CRAN server (R Studio), please
disable any firewall restriction in case its there.
