DISCUSS THE MEANING OF ELECTROLYTE?

 Electrolyte is a compound which produces ions when dissolved in a

solution such as water. The electrolytes that are the most important in
nutrition are sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphate.

 Electrolytes are minerals that are essential for your body to function.
They help regulate your pH levels and muscles, keep you hydrated, and
more. Therefore, consuming enough electrolytes in your diet is important
for your health.

 Electrolytes are minerals that carry an electrical charge. They're vital for
health and survival. Electrolytes spark cell function throughout the body.
They support hydration and help the body produce energy.

Foods with electrolytes include:

 spinach  tofu  fish, such as

flounder
 kale  strawberries
 turkey
 avocados  watermelon
 chicken
 broccoli  oranges
 veal
 potatoes  bananas
 raisins
 beans  tomatoes
 olives
 almonds  milk
 canned foods,
 peanuts  buttermilk
such as soups
 soybeans  yogurt
and vegetables
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ELECTROLYTES?
The main electrolytes include sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium and
magnesium. These five nutritional elements are minerals, and when minerals
dissolve in water they separate into positive and negative ions.

DISCUSS THE COMPOSITION OF ELECTROLYTES?

Electrolytes are minerals in your body that have an electric charge. They are
in your blood, urine, tissues, and other body fluids. Electrolytes are
important because they help:

 Balance the amount of water in your body

 Balance your body's acid/base (pH) level
 Move nutrients into your cells
 Move wastes out of your cells
 Make sure that your nerves, muscles, the heart, and the brain work the
way they should
Sodium, calcium, potassium, chloride, phosphate, and magnesium are all
electrolytes. You get them from the foods you eat and the fluids you drink.
The levels of electrolytes in your body can become too low or too high. This
can happen when the amount of water in your body changes. The amount of
water that you take in should equal the amount you lose. If something upsets
this balance, you may have too little water (dehydration) or too much water
(overhydration). Some medicines, vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, and liver or
kidney problems can all upset your water balance.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ELECTROLYTE BALANCE?
In my opinion Electrolytes, are minerals that carry an electrical charge. They
are critical to one's health and survival. Electrolytes stimulate cell function
all over the body. They aid in hydration and energy production in the body.
They are also in charge of triggering muscular contractions, like those that
keep your heart beating.
