I hope you had a great holidays.
Below you can find the information, which was agreed last year for the project OPUS
111. Should we keep the same key points of the projects? Or would you like to adjust
something?
Deadline for the composer to submit their scores will be 10th of November.
Then Renato will have one week to go through the scores and print them for
the students.
The level of the compositions should be adjusted to a two weeks preparation
from the students. If there is a soloist needed, the composer should get in
contact with that person.
The compositions will be maximum 5 minutes.
There will be 8 composers.
The duration of the concert (music) should not exceed 45 minutes.
Attached you can find a memo for the composers (guidelines for sheet
submission). If they do not respect the deadlines, their compositions could be
canceled and not be played.
You could use electronics, and the instrumentation for the project is the
following: 1111 (string) / 102(Cl+Bcl)0 / 012(trm+Btromb)0 / 2 perc. + 1 Harp.

Player 2: Kick drum, tom, snare, susp.cymb., 2 simantras, 2 metal tubes,
maraca suspended, wind chime, grand casa

Project Description:
Opus 111 is a project in which we play world premieres of our classical composition
students. We think it is very important to play a lot of new classical music because it
is very exciting to hear what composers nowadays can create. That is why we do it in
the tradition of a new music ensemble like London sinfonietta, Asko/Schoenberg
and ensemble modern. Ensemble’s which are built of all soloists! Codarts values this
project because it is an important learning experience for both parties. And a
thrilling experience for the curious listener!
Schedule: Rehearsals from the 2nd till the 7th of December. Concert 8th of December,
Feestzaal (De Doelen).
