Due to the restricted daytime use of the buildings in the shopping streets, night
activity has decreased dramatically resulting in an unsafe area that accommodates
disreputable activities that threaten public safety and decency.

Theoretical framework ?-

Because commercial streets of the twentieth century in the Colonial City of Santo
Domingo have been suffering a gradual decline until the end to have a lot of
abandoned buildings, the area has been increasingly subject to a process of gradual
gentrification.
