1.1 Overview
The secret ID function allows users to mask their identity during an outgoing call.

2.1 Basic description

Calls on which secret ID can be implemented are either internal (and ABC network) calls or
external ISDN calls.
The correspondent in this case sees Secret ID displayed on the set in the case of a local or
ABC network call. In the case of an ISDN call, the correspondent sees the name of the trunk,
by which the call arrived, displayed on set. This function can be managed separately for local
or ABC network calls on the one hand, and for ISDN calls on the other. It can be managed
permanently for members of an entity or else used individually, via a key, if this is authorised
for the user. This function is also valid in the case where a call is transferred to a set which has
validated this facility, even if the set transferring the call displays its ID.

2.2 Sets concerned

The following sets can use the secret ID function:
- 4035 sets,
- DECT and PWT sets.

2.3 Operation in ABC network

The secret ID function is only operational in networks in an homogeneous type ABC-F2 sub
network.

3.1 Limits
- In a manager-assistant configuration, the secret ID function cannot be used, whether or not
it is validated.
- A set on which the secret ID function is validated cannot use the call-back on busy set and
call-back on free set functions.

4.1 Configuration
Management of the secret ID function is carried out from four different parameters which must
be combined to create the required function (see table: Summary on the secret Id. sending ):
Object name: Entities
Attributes:
Caller Id. Secret : Set at Yes, this parameter allows the system to mask
ID of the users of this entity.

Object name: Classes of Service > Phone Features Classes of Service

Attributes:
Rights
Mask Id. name Only for ext. : Set to 1, this parameter is used for secret ID on
calls external calls only (ISDN type).
Set to 0, this parameter authorises secret ID on all
types of call.
External Services
Secret/Identity : Set to 1, this parameter allows the user to use the
programmable key and hence not be subject to the
state imposed on his entity.
Set to 0, this parameter imposes on the user the state
of the entity to which he belongs.

Object name: Users

Attributes:
ISDN Subscr.
External : Set to Yes, this parameter authorizes the user in
question to use the secret ID service for ISDN calls.

Note: the meaning of these four parameters must not be interpreted literally, since it is only the
combination of the four which is used to obtain the required operation (see table next page).
The combination of these parameters is used to obtain the following various functions:

(2): the feature “ISDN Subscriber” to NO inhibits all NDS/NDI reception in called.

4.2 Creating the prefix

In order to create the Secret ID programmable key, you must first create the appropriate prefix.
To do this, complete the following parameters.
Object name: Translator > Prefix Plan
Attributes:
Number : Enter a prefix number which is not already used in the
numbering plan.
Prefix meaning : In the list, select the External Features configuration.
Asub menu is displayed. Select Secret/Identity.

To use the secret ID function, a programmable key must be declared on the set.
If sets are not configured with such a programmable key, users are subject to secret ID or not
depending on the configuration of the entity to which they belong.

5.1 Creating the programmable key

Select the key to program then the Set DND and locking, then the Sec Id item.

5.2 Implementation
If the user has a programmable key, he may use it to mask his ID on local (and ABC network)
calls, ISDN calls or both at the same time, depending on the management carried out (see
module Secret ID - Configuration procedure ).
In this case, he can use this key at any time to change from the "send ID" state to the "Secret
ID" state. This key functions as a toggle key, which means that it remains locked in "active"
position for the following calls until the user presses it again in order to de-activate the
function.
Caution: this function can only be accessed by a programmable key. Although it is essential to
configure a prefix, you cannot use this prefix directly.
