1.1 Overview
The Alcatel 4049 PAC terminal is a graphical application enabling all attendant console
functions to be activated on a monitor (CRT or LCD). This application is equipped with an
Alcatel-specific MMK keyboard (Alcatel MultiMedia Keyboard) to enhance attendant
workstation ergonomics.
The Alcatel MMK keyboard is a PC type keyboard with an added set of function keys. It has an
audio function. An audio handset can be connected to the left or right side of the keyboard. A
40-key AOM extension keyboard can be added to the MMK keyboard.
This terminal is connected to an Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise using a TA-MMK unit.

1.2 Description
The 4049 PAC, also called Alcatel 4049 attendant console, comprises:
- a TA-MMK Terminal Adaptor unit,
- an MMK keyboard with audio functions. The following can be connected to the keyboard:

• an AOM module (to the right of the keyboard).
- a monitor (LCD or CRT).
For further additional on the TA-MMK, see module TA-MMK (MMK V2) - Hardware description

3.1 General
After having connected the 4049 attendant console for the first time, you must proceed with
binary downloading.
The binary downloading tool is available via the "mtcl" account with the
"/DHS3bin/oneshot/mtcl/he_dow_tuner" command.
There are two different ways of using the "he_dow_tuner" command:
- with a system terminal directly connected to the PBX (direct access),
- with a terminal connected to a modem (access via modem).

3.2 Downloading
Before running the "he_dow_tuner" command, you can choose the language, either French
(FR0) or English (EN0) of the menus.

3.2.1 Choice of language of the menus

The procedure is as follows (choice of a menu in English):
