A. RATIONALE
As per DepEd Order No. 35, s. 2016 also known as The Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-based Continuing Basic
Professional Development Strategy for the improvement of Teaching and Learning, teaching personnel are given opportunity to form a professional learning
community in which they engage in collaborative learning sessions to solve shared challenges encountered in the school within a shared domain of professional
interest. Such professional community can be a great avenue to improve teaching and learning process, nurture teachers, develop and improve pedagogical
knowledge, and foster collaborative spirit among members.
With the COVID-19 pandemic still ravaging the nation and the education sector, the continuity of learning and the delivery of basic education services is put
to a test. After four months since DepEd opened its doors for the learners and stakeholders, several issues and concerns that are crucial for the success of the
new normal education were addressed and needs to be addressed. It is the goal of the Culminating Activity teachers to discuss relevant matters about the learning
area and maximize available resources in preparation for the forth coming second semester of school year 2020-2021 and eliminating such adversities for a
smooth delivery of quality basic education. Thus, a LAC session is scheduled.
B. OBJECTIVES
The conduct of LAC session aims to:
1. Revisit and familiarize the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) of the learning area.
2. Craft Weekly Learning Activity Sheets (WLAS) and Weekly Home Learning Plan (WHLP) anchored on the MELC and the Budget of Works (BOW) of the
Learning Area.
3. Present and revise a MELC-based lesson exemplar for RPMS objectives 1, 5 and 7.
4. Discuss relevant matters concerning teachers, partner agencies and students.
