What is Global Shapers Community?

The Global Shapers community (an initiative by World Economic Forum) is a network of Hubs
developed and led by young people in their 20s who are exceptional in their potential, their
achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities.
(www.globalshapers.org). Each hub has a Shapers who are selected through a defined screen and
selection process. The Community has 2 missions:
(1) Help young people self-organize for impact
(2) Ensure that young people have a seat at the table where agenda is being shaped

About Ahmedabad Global Shapers

has 30+ such young minds who are empathetic and sensitive towards local and global issues. These
young people have shown the capability in their own fields by achieving results personally and
professionally.

Projects at Ahmedabad Global Shapers

Ahmedabad hub is current working on a few projects which attempt to create local impact
and strike the chord with local people. Through activities and events – Ahmedabad Global Shapers
would like to engage youth of the city to get sensitized and active to work towards social issues.

There is a dire need of creating sensitive, empathetic, and aware youth. We believe ‘alternative
education’ is the way forward. We are building educational resources to educate people on the
subjects which are not covered in conventional syllabuses. We are addressing issues: // gender
sensitivity // menstrual taboo // lack of access to knowledge for underprivileged //lack of awareness
of basic citizen rights.
