School Year 2021-2022

LEARNING PACKAGE #2 in Mathematics 10

SECOND QUARTER

Content/Lesson Title: Theorems on Arcs, Central Angles, and Week No. 4

Inscribed Angles

NAME: DATE:
GRADE & SECTION: Grade 10 – Diocese of TEACHER: Sir Vinz Frias

LEARNING TARGETS: After accomplishing this learning package, I must be able to:
a. Identify arcs, central angles, and inscribed angles of a circle. (Knowledge)
b. Apply theorems on arcs, central angles, and inscribed angles in a given circle. (Understanding)
c. Analyze and solve a problem involving theorems on arcs, central angles, and inscribed angles. (Skills)
d. Create an alternative problem involving theorems on arcs, central angles, and inscribed angles. (21st
Century Skills)
e. Explain how theorems on arcs, central angles, and inscribed angles relate to fairness in real life. (Valuing)

ASSESSMENT. Do as directed. Write your solution, explanation, and answer on a piece of paper then
paste a photo of your work on the space provided. Refer to the rubric provided for scoring.
1. Answer Exercise 5C #9 on p. 194 from the New Syllabus Singapore Math 10 Worktext (5 points).

2. Choose one of the four book items from Activity 1 in this learning package. Then, change the
given angle measurement to a different one. Explain how different the solution will be and
solve for the new answer (5 points).

3. What if the Ferris wheel on the right had equally spaced seats,
such that the central angle shown was at a particular
measurement? Choose a measurement of the central angle then
calculate the number of seats in the Ferris wheel. What can be
said about the angle measurements that make sense for this
problem?

Criteria Description Points

Accuracy of Solution and The answer is completely correct, and all work is 5 points
Explanation shown for the problem.

WRAP-UP ACTIVITY. Today, you have learned about the different theorems on arcs, inscribed angles,
and central angles in a circle and how they can be used to solve missing measurements in the circle.
Moreover, you have seen its applications in real life like in viewing angles of cameras or people.
These angle theorems that show different locations of the same angle can be reminiscent of
how God can treat everyone in His own fair way. Arland J. Hultgren writes as part of his
reflection on the parable of the workers in the vineyard (Matthew 20:1–16), “God saves by
grace, not by our worthiness. That applies to all of us.”
To think about your learning today, I would like you to reflect on the Bible verse above on how
it can be related to the angle theorems. Then, reflect also how you live out your life as young as
you are. Write your answer on the space provided.
