SPED 213 Reflections for

A Responsive Program for the Inclusive Education Sector

1. Based from Conducting CBT or the cognitive behavioral therapy for Anxiety in Children with
Autism Spectrum Disorder During Covid-19 Pandemic, I can make sure and strategize that this
CBT will reach out to the learners even in remote areas and heightened areas of exposure by
visiting the home of these learners first. By doing this, I can assess their location and come up
with ideas on how could I deliver this CBT to them. If there is no internet connection in their
location, I should become more flexible. I should come up with several ways on how to apply
telehealth to learners who live in remote areas. One strategy is by creating and distributing
modules that the learners could read. Through the guidance of their parents, these learners
could learn from these modules. Another way is by downloading videos and other online
resources such as songs and games that could relieve the anxiety of learners. I will schedule
even just one day each week to visit these learners and show these online resources that I have
downloaded and let them use it by themselves.
2. Basing from the video itself, I can conclude that parents know best for their children no matter
how hard the situation is. With this, the program that I would suggest to DepEd or CHED is a
program that gives free trainings or webinars to the parents of people with ADHD. These
trainings or webinars that I have mentioned could have contents such as proper care of people
with ADHD, how to handle people with ADHD or may the does and don’ts in dealing with people
with ADHD. However, if the parents of these old people with ADHD are no longer alive, I could
suggest the DepEd or CHED to create another version of Alternative Learning System where
these old people with ADHD could enroll. By enrolling them to an educational system, they
would be able to socialized with other people who are not so different to them. They can learn
from each other and they could be individually assisted by their teachers.
3. The video was about a German university training people who have mental disabilities or
learning difficulties to become teachers. This program could improve their self-esteem and how
they cope with stress. With this program, people with mental disabilities or learning difficulties
will feel that they are not different from other people. Especially here in the Philippines where
people with disabilities are being bullied. By this program, people with mental disabilities will
bring out what is inside of them and be able to prove to other people that they are also able of
doing thing done by normal people.
