Jack of all trades, master of none seems to be an insult in today’s competitive world in some

way, where benefits arise by making yourself skillful in multiple fields. Graduated with an
engineering degree from Kathmandu University, I had only been focusing on the ‘Science
Stream’ after my schooling.
While on my internship at a company, I was fortunate enough to get into the marketing team—
with no particular interest at the time. But getting involved in the team, opened my eyes to
something new; different than anything that I had been dealing with. This new experience
aroused my interest in the management skills, leadership qualities, create connections or
networks; basically, skills to run any company- something that I had been unaware about. This
skill development would require more knowledge; thus, I am applying to King’s College MBA
program to develop an innovative skill in me and fulfil my long-term goals.
Currently working as a Program Co-ordiantor for an NGO, I have been able to view the
management of the company up-close, giving me a greater idea of how an organization needs
to run. Various project completion requires a healthy balance between individual and team
work, great business decisions, advance networks and manage financial resources. This first
hand experience of working for the company has been fruitful to help me generate basic ideas
to smooth functioning of a workplace.
Furthermore, the engineering course offered at Kathmandu University also provided
entrepreneurship and economics classes, which gave me an opportunity to research on some
local businesses and starts ups, understand the basic cashflows to finally creating a general
project startup idea of my own. It would be a great opportunity to elevate this general idea
with theoretical background available in the MBA program at Kings college.
As I skim through the MBA programs offered at Kings College, I find the courses quite fulfilling
to help me explore better business management ideas and build in me innovative ways to
empower leadership and management skills.
