Interscope Records on September 20, 2019, as the lead single from their upcoming seventh studio
album.

The song is about the memories of the lost ones that come alive whenever they drink, saying “Cause
the drinks bring back all the memories”. This song was written mainly because of the fact that the
manager of the band died. People could also notice at the end of the video the that fact that there is
the message, "For Jordi" , Adam Levine's best friend Jordan Feldstein, who died in 2017 at age
40.Adam Levine is using the loss and memories of loved one to become a better person.

Musically, the rhythm is simple but effective, the verses are highlighting Levine’s vocals and most of
all, the lyrics. "Memories" is arranged around light keys, guitars and vocals. The theme and story of
“Memories” makes it quite a respectable song to listen to.

This is not the quite best Maroon 5 record in my opinion, but it also not the worst. The song is so
sentimental, making you nostalgic after listening to it. We should never forget the past so that we
will have something to recall when we grow old is my explanation for the whole song in a sentence.
