This document provides a rubric to evaluate paragraphs. It evaluates paragraphs on four criteria: main/topic idea sentence, supporting detail sentence(s), mechanics, grammar, and marks out of 15. For the highest marks, the main idea sentence is clear and restated in the closing sentence, with three or more supporting details that relate back to the main idea. Fewer errors in mechanics, grammar, and punctuation are allowed for higher scores.
