LABORATORY ACTIVITY # 1

Plant Pathogenic Profile

Aliah Alleyne L. Canals 10/24/2021
BSA 1A SCORE:

Introduction

A plant pathogen is a broad term that refers to any organism that causes plant disease, including
fungi, bacteria, protists, nematodes, and viruses. A plant pathogen is an organism that causes a disease on
a plant. Although some plant infections have ancestors that are human or animal pathogens, the majority
of plant pathogens are only harmful to plants. Plant pathogens, on the other hand, can make immune-
compromised individuals ill. Plant diseases are studied for a number of reasons, ranging from
environmental issues to the aim to safeguard the food supply.

Objectives:
1. Describe Eggplant borer (Leucinodes orbonalis) sign and symptoms on host; and
2. Discuss its life cycle, mode of dispersal and geographic distribution.
