This article introduces a wearable textile-thermoplastic composite in the form of a glove

which exhibits changes in stiffness when actively cooled or heated. That could be applied for
patients, who lost their sensation that was caused by injury or stroke. By heating or cooling
the thermoplastic polymer, material used for the glove, the mechanical properties dramatically
change. The material stiffens when cooled and softens when heated.
Polymethacrylates, materials that interface with the kineshetic sense of human subjects are
further modified with the use of a plasticizer. That leads to the exhibition of glass transition
temperature near the surface temperature of the skin. To make the material compatible with
wereable applications, the materials were integrated into warp-knit spandex, which influences
the stretchability and knitted spandex easily fit and conform to the skin.
However, some corrections still need to be made due to the long switching times between
states of low and high stiffness.
