Begins TUESDAY JANUARY 11, 2022

Have you been waiting for the right words to appear in the proper order to describe
what you’ve been living? Do you long to write in brave lines of what lies behind the things
blocking your innate creativity? And do you know what it is that might be preventing you from
experiencing the warm waters of creation? You’ve felt your emotions and experiences and
thoughts swimming and pooling within you, but can’t seem to language them effectively or fear
trying altogether. You feel like you’ll never master the art of writing because there are not
enough hours in the day or the protective space to open and write from the center of your
heart. You’ve felt a certain wound within, throbbing for attention for some time now, and in
need of the soothing balm of therapeutic writing and its many healing properties. You’ve lived
a life full of heartfelt experiences only you can tell, where the contents want to be held a little
closer and delved into, and be processed into the divine poetry only you can write.

If you can feel yourself leaning into these words and responding, then this special
course is meant for you.

You are marked by what you have seen in life.  You are moved by what you know. Poetry
invites you to work through many of the life challenges and experiences that have shaped
you.  Everything within is waiting to be processed and expressed through your potent and
convincing poetic voice. Let your heart lead the way and take you on a healing odyssey like no
other, as your poetry blossoms before you in knowing words. This complete course is intended
to help you imagine and retrieve the wondrous gift you possess to heal as you write. You will
uncover what might be holding you back or preventing you from moving forward through
writing Poetry. Each class will focus on specific practices and exercises to guide you directly
into your authentic voice. Healing is an ongoing and delicate process where The Poetry
Healing Course can offer a safe place, lined with trust, to meet that crucial need. This course
will allow you to securely explore the intricate landscapes of YOU.

Please join me on this healing journey!

Poetry has the power to heal. The Unspoken presents itself through our writing. Our real
feelings emerge. Past events resurface. And behind our smiles, and even fears, are the soul’s
secret tears holding out, yet longing to roll freely with true expression. If you are someone who
has worked through life material and continues to find areas that call out for attention and
caring focus, this course is perfect for you. If you’re someone who’s not entirely sure how to
locate or present the many faces of your poetic style, or if you enjoy writing poetry and would
like to nurture your process, let this course be a gift that allows your creative energies to flow
and flourish. This is truly a Heart Journey you’ll want to venture, moving towards more self-
discovery and be affirmed along the way.

This course is an invitation. Your healing and writing have longed to engage in a process
that offers personal validation and connection.
This course is a healing opportunity. The act of writing engages internal healing resources
that affect emotional, physical, and spiritual health and well-being. The Poetry Healing
Course is a nurturing place to access any support or feedback you’ll need to develop your
poetic voice, while healing your heart.

The Story of how I claimed my poetic voice…

Hi, I’m Susan Frybort and I’m so honoured and excited to be presenting this poetry
writing and healing course to you at this special time. There was a time in my life where I
felt myself separated from the one true solace I now treasure most.  Writing poetry. While I
was sure to find comfort and connection reading poetry written by other poets, I was unable to
expose my own poetry to the world, or even access what I was genuinely feeling. For years, I
was happy to read and circulate what other people had written, yet felt a longing to share
something personal and meaningful stirring within. As a child, I had been deeply drawn to
poetry and found myself captivated by rhythm, rhyme and sequence. I continued to study
poetry throughout my life and exercised my writing privately. As a trauma survivor, I turned to
poetry writing as a means of working through my multi-layered material and cleaning out past
wounds. The day came when I finally felt ready and began sharing poetry after joining a
therapeutic writing support group. I received the encouragement and positive feedback I
longed to hear and went on to submit pieces, and subsequently had several poems published.
But even after these brave steps, something else remained in the way and I was still unable to
reference my feelings conclusively. I understood there was more work to be done. Poetry
continued to be my provider and place of shelter as I continued to work through more of my
emotional holdings and traumatic wounding. It actually wasn’t until after I published the poem
titled, Empathy, that I began my most intimate journey— directly into my Heart— to unearth
the many blocks and fears that were preventing my deepest creativity from flowing liberally.
And when I finally emerged, I was writing from my soul with an empowered and authentic
voice.

I couldn’t stop the flow that resulted afterwards. Once I tapped into this abounding well within,
I activated more memories and buried bodily and emotional material. As I continued
excavating, I was simultaneously sharpening my authentic voice. More importantly, I was
wonderfully gaining true confidence!  As a writer and poet, I understand the journey and the
importance of protecting and nurturing the creative process. That’s one of the many special
reasons why I wanted to design this compelling course to share with you. My hope is you will
find the personal experiences I share, along with the exclusive prompts and exercises,
activate and lead you to more personal discovery and connection. All the set-backs and
patterns that once held you captive as a writer and hindered growth and healing, will
remarkably and compassionately bring you into the light of your powerful voice. I hope you join
me on this amazing path!

In this course, you will …

Heal the places within that call for tenderness and

attention.
Explore your emotional terrain and overcome
barriers to expression.
Discover the deep wisdom in your life experiences
that will propel your poetry.
Connect to your body and memories to integrate
into your writing process.
Become your greatest source of inspiration and
deepen your poetry.

More About Susan

Susan Frybort is an American-born poet with a deep fascination for life and the human
experience. Writing since she was a child, her poems and affirmations are a tapestry of
wisdom and compassion that soften the heart’s edges, calling us home. Previously published
in Elephant Journal, Vivid Life, and Women for One, Susan also has published two inspiring
books. Her first, the poetry collection Hope is a Traveler, was published in 2015 to rave
reviews. Hope engages the senses through imagery and metaphor. Her second book, Open
Passages, is a special collection of meditations and affirmations that offer soothing balm to the
weary soul. In addition, Susan’s poetry has been featured in bestsellers, An Uncommon Bond
and Grounded Spirituality, both written by her husband, Jeff Brown. She is a nature enthusiast
and her interests include astronomy, art, photography, and old books. Today, Susan has
settled in Canada and continues to write.

“What would happen if you walked to your edges and

peered into the uncharted streams of your personal
existence? We understand how everyone is afraid of
something and that hesitation becomes a barricade placed
before our creative energy. We want to somehow use this
crucial point as a catapult to expression. I was always
fearful of exposing my work in the beginning. Forever
going to the trouble of hiding or evading the very thing that
wished to set me free and enable me to heal and develop.
Eventually I realized all my heart pounding fears would
inevitably be swallowed up by the overwhelming
misfortune of remaining in a place of little or no growth,
and so I used that restless and anxious energy to propel me forward and seize more from life.
To write how I wanted. To be unapologetic about my style. To be daring and brave and share
what I know and to trust there is richness there. The best thing about your poetic voice is that
it belongs to you and was birthed through your individual creative process.”
