• Number, counting the number of items (doors and windows)


• Length, measuring the length of item (m) (pipe lines)

Notes for Quantity Survey
• Quantities of work are measured ‘net in place’ that are calculated
using the sizes and dimensions indicated on the drawings
• Dimensions are entered in this order: length, width, height
(thickness) with 2 decimal accuracy
• If the dimension does not come directly from tender drawings,
provide side calculations on the quantity sheet showing how it was
determined

• Classify excavation into: site clearing, excavation over site to reduce
levels, basement excavation, trench excavation
• Classify excavation according soil types
• Hand excavation shall be measured separately
• Classify backfilling into: fill over site to raised levels, backfill to
basement, backfill to trench
