The maps demonstrate significant changes in the seaside town of Seaville over the 30 years, starting from 1980.
Overall, the town experienced a substantial development from holiday town to
permanent town over 30 year period. Likewise, the infrastructure and amenities increased to serve tourists.
Seaville was tiny, attracting solely a number of tourists, who resided in holiday
cottages or a small hotel. On the contrary, East Bank was wild. To the south of woodland, there were a marsh, and Cottages located to the left. Relating to recreational activities, besides the sand dunes, the village also erected a tea room.
Conversely, the village witnesses a considerable full-grown in 2010. Retirement
villages had been introduced to the west of the main road. The marsh had been dry out and the cottages were knocked down so as to construct houses. Besides, both brand new high-rise hotels and holiday cottages on East Bank had been constructed. Similarly, a boat club had been erected on the west bank of the river. The woodlands had been chopped down and supplanted by a golf course. In contrast, the hotel stayed unchanged during the development.
