RBA in Batch Backorder

Processing
Use

In the standard system, the system is only allowed to perform a rules-based availability
check (RBA) in batch backorder processing if the item does not have any subitems yet from a
previous RBA. The current subitems of an item thus remain in batch backorder processing and
are checked according to the relevant check instructions.

Note

In the following, an item that has subitems resulting from a rules-based ATP check is called the
RBA main item, while a subitem of this item is called the RBA subitem.

However, you can configure your system so that it performs a rules-based ATP check in batch
backorder processing for RBA main items as well. In this case, the system deletes the current
RBA subitems, reevaluates the rules for the RBA main item according the check instructions, and
creates new subitems based on the availability situation. With a rule evaluation horizon, however,
you can protect the RBA main items in a short-term horizon against a rules-based ATP check.

Prerequisites

In order that rules-based availability check can be executed in backorder processing, you must
have assigned the technical scenario EE to a rule strategy.

Features

In the standard system, the system prevents a renewed ATP check from being performed for an
RBA main item in batch backorder processing, by not loading the RBA main item even if the RBA
main item is contained in the backorder processing filter.

To permit an RBA check for an RBA main item,. you need to activate the new rule evaluation. To
do this, in the parameters for the report for batch backorder processing ( /SAPAPO/BOP), on
the Parameter Check tab page, select the Rule Eval. (Again) (Rule Evaluation (Again))
checkbox. If you have activated the new rule evaluation, the system loads, in addition to the RBA
subitems contained in the filter, the associated RBA main items (even if these are not contained
in the filter). As a result, the system can perform an ATP check for the RBA main items and
delete the current RBA subitems. If you specify a rule evaluation horizon, the system only loads
RBA main items that lie after the rule evaluation horizon (see Rule Evaluation Horizon). Within
the rule evaluation horizon, the subitems are retained.
