I perceive this internship opportunity as a big milestone in my career development. I will strive

Executive Summary
This internship report focusses on the work experience that I have gathered as an intern in the

marketing and promotion department of Securatech system from 7 June 2021 to 20 July 2021.

In this report I have mainly incorporated the experience that I have gained during this internship

especially related to catalogue and brochure designing, Web Designing, SEO etc.

The first section of my paper includes the basic introduction to Securatech system that I have

worked in that basically consists of the mission and vision, historical background, the

product/services that I have been dealing with also the turnover of the enterprise.

The Second section of my paper includes a detailed description about the work that I have

done during this internship, the responsibilities that I had and the changes that I can bring to

the Organization.

The first phase was getting familiar with the products that Securatech System offers to the

customers. After a few days I was put into a team basically where I have to design the catalogue

and brochure for the products that my enterprise is dealing with.

Phase 2 started with the third week onwards I started working with the SEO Team where

various task was designed for me by Miss. Dimpi Thakur, this includes writing product pages

and blogs which gave me the chance of learning about Content Writing. Scheduling the

securatech systems social media posts and updates, was my daily activity for keeping the

customers engaged with the products.

Phase 3 started with the Fifth week in which we also created a website for the Securatech

System where I also got the opportunity to learn about web designing

In the last phase I was able to increase the customer to our website. So, this was a great

achievement for me. It was a great online journey of 6 weeks in Securatech Systems where I

got ample opportunities to apply my knowledge and skill. It helped me a lot to contribute to

Business.

Also, with the core learning in Digital Marketing and online B2C Scenario the internship

improves my writing skills, Creative abilities and result that I was able to deliver was indeed

the confidence booster for me.

1.Introduction

1.1Process of choosing a company

All of us were required to complete an internship report to meet college requirements and the

guidelines of our mentors. But first, we need to find a company where we have to do our

internship. As such, I was hoping to work with a MSME, but I never imagined it would be so

difficult to find one. My next option was to switch to online internship programs.

During Covid 19's pandemic, it is becoming hard to find a job, so after looking online for

internships I was able to find an online internship at a micro small business i.e., Securatech

Systems. One of the main reasons that I wanted to do an internship at a micro small enterprise

because I want to learn from an experienced professional about the industry. They agreed and

provided me with the offer letter within 1 week.

1.2 Area
“In a field as dynamic as digital marketing, you must always keep up to date, be flexible, and

adapt to the latest changes” by quoting this I would like to say that I was keenly interested in

digital marketing. So, I decided to focus on that area. A summer internship in that area will

provide me with a great deal of insight into how that type of work is performed.

Security System was formed in year 1998. The business name Securatech Systems runs under

the brand name Securatech Systems Zirakpur which is owned by Meena Bhardwaj. We as

Securatech are working day and night on new products keep testing the others too. Our well

organised research and development wing is full with innovations and intelligence.

Our goals at the Securatech have been to offer home owners and contractors the widest

selection of affordable electronic security and automation products possible for home and

commercial security and automation. We import products from Japan China and USA plus we

also provide customised indigenous development solutions to our customers.

This well-known establishment acts as a one-stop destination servicing customers both local

and from other parts of Zirakpur, Chandigarh. Over the course of its journey, this business has

established a firm foothold in its industry. The belief that customer satisfaction is as important

as their products and services, have helped this establishment garner a vast base of customers,

which continues to grow by the day.

This business employs individuals that are dedicated towards their respective roles and put in

a lot of effort to achieve the common vision and larger goals of the company. In the near future,

this business aims to expand its line of products and services and cater to a larger client base.

In Zirakpur, Chandigarh, this establishment occupies a prominent location in Zirakpur HO. It

is an effortless task in commuting to this establishment as there are various modes of transport

readily available.

1.4 The project that I have worked on

Following up on the internship requirements, I worked at a Micro small medium enterprise i.e.,

Securatech Systems. As an intern Miss. Dimpi Thakur (Manager of Securatech Systems)

assigned me all the tasks and activities that I have to do during my internship period from 7

June 2021 to 20 July 2021.

All of us was required to complete a report while working on this internship project according

to the college guidelines given by our mentors.

I chose “Experience of working with Securatech Systems: MSME Company in Zirakpur”

as the topic of my report. This topic appealed to me because all the tasks they have been

assigned me whether it is making brochures, making catalogues or scheduling social media

posts or it is related to SEO I enjoyed a lot while working on them thoroughly.

As such, I am supposed to discuss all of those things in my report, such as the type of work I

have done, the issues I have faced while doing the tasks, opportunities, needs, and expectations,

and the things that happened to me which is why I chose this topic for my report.

assemble them here.

an honour for us.

2.5Types of products

3.Internship Experience

3.1 Department of work/organization

The marketing department of the Securatech system is led by Miss. Dimpi Thakur at securatech

systems. The department is further divided into three main branches SEO, SEM and SMM and

content marketing which is handled by Mr. Amit Sehgal. He looks after the executives working

under each branch and these executives work under different marketing channels under the

guidance of their leader.

All marketing channels used by the securatech systems is explained further.

Digital Marketing:

Digital marketing also known as online, web or internet marketing is a collective name of

marketing activity carried online as opposed to traditional marketing through print media, live

promotions, tv and radio advertisement.

Digital Marketing channels

1. SEO (Search Engine Optimization): Search Engine Optimisation is a process of creating and

developing a strategy to optimise and improve a website in order to increase traffic from

organic or natural result. That is why SEO is called organic reach as it helps you to improve

the number of users you will get to your website by clicking on the results that appear in search

engine.

Organic reach is a natural and free way to general visit as opposed to paid reach where you

pay to get your website promoted and visible to user.

2. SEM (Search Engine Marketing): Search engine marketing, or to use a shorter phrase, search

marketing, is defined as a series of actions that are aimed at increasing visibility of a website

in the search engines through both paid and free processes.

The main goal of those processes is to extend the visibility of an internet site and gain traffic,

so as to extend sales and conversions.

3. SMM (Social Media Marketing): Social media marketing is a way to get site traffic or attention

through social media sites. Social media marketing programs usually focus on efforts to create

content that attracts attention and encourages readers to share it across their social networks.

In other words, when a business has set up a page on social websites with all its details and

products, it wants to attract attention and traffic to it. SMM is the method employed to do so.

3.2 Roles/ Duties assigned

Work Profile:

I was working with the team of executives directed by the leader i.e., Dimpi Thakur where

basically I have to design the brochures and catalogues of the products and services that

securatech system deals in. In addition to that I have to Schedule social media posts and

updates, Thirdly I have to look after the marketing and promotional activities on various digital

platforms working closely with the SEO Team, Social marketing and E-Marketing team of

Securatech System.

Roles and responsibilities in Securatech System:

1. Catalogue and brochure designing:


The first major role that I have been provided is the role of catalogue or brochure designer. In

this basically I have to design the brochure of products that securatech system deals in. Here

2. Scheduling the social media posts:

The second role that I have been assigned is to daily schedule the social media posts. When the

updates and posts are published on social media like Facebook or LinkedIn or Instagram, users

like and share the posts and create brand awareness and to keep the customers engaged with

the products.

It includes:

• It includes posting interactive content like photos of products or services which will drive the

customer towards the official website of the company.

• Posting about offers and discounts: This includes posting about summer sale which include

like providing discount up to 50%off. So that customer can engage with the products.

• Replying to customers comments and queries regarding the product.

• Encourage users who are active on the page by promoting content by writing blogs.

• Creating appealing ads by using Facebook ad campaign.

Below is the screenshot of Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn being the social media

which are used every day for giving updates and news.

3. SEO (Search Engine Optimization):
In this we have done On Page SEO and Off page SEO.

In this my major objective was to improve the visibility and reach of the securatech systems

webpage on search engine.

The SEO department in which I worked the main objective is to optimize the web pages that

are relevant to business. Primarily aimed at improving the overall presence on the internet

mainly at the search engine result pages.

I have performed two types of SEO:

• On- Page optimization

• Off-Page Optimization

Tools that I used in SEO:

• Google Analytics: It is used to track the website activity of the users such as bounce rate, page

per session etc.

• Google Ad keyword planner: It is basically used to do the keyword research.

• Google webmaster tools: It is used to check and submit sitemaps and links to external pages

and internal pages that links to the site.

• Uber suggest: Another tool for keyword research

Steps involved in SEO:

1. Keyword research:

The first step that was involved in SEO was keyword research. We used uber suggest and

google keyword planner to do the keyword research that are most relevant to our website.

Some of the keywords that we used are: Securavision, Securatech, Securatech system, CCTV

etc.

2. Competitor Analysis:

The second step involved in SEO is to do competitor analysis. Competitor analysis is the

analysis of competitors in the same area.

On-Page optimization:

• Content creation and optimization; Major contents were created that include keywords and

placed in strategic places like title, URL, heading etc.

• Image optimization: It includes

➢ Every image was provided with SEO friendly theme

➢ Every image was resized to upload it properly

➢ Descriptive caption was provided to the image.

Off -Page optimization:

Off-Page search engine optimization refers to the activities that we perform outside the

boundaries of website. It is a term used to describe the process of promoting a website for the

purpose of gaining link from another website.

It included:

• Link Building:

Backlinks: It is also known as inbound links. They are the links from one website to a page on

another website. Google and other search engine consider backlinks as votes for another page.

Pages with higher number of backlinks have a higher search engine ranking.

We created backlinks by Ads, articles.

• Social media presence: It includes maintaining a weekly Routine of social media post Finding

the relevant content and engaging with the audience We make sure that people have access to

our content not only through website but also through the social media platform

3.3 Linkages to theoretical part learnt in classroom

1. Digital Marketing:

The first linkage to theoretical part learnt in classroom was related to digital marketing. The

term digital marketing refers to advertising delivered through digital channels such as search

engines, websites, social media, emails.

In this way, digital marketing enables companies to endorse products, services, and brands

through these online platforms.

Types of digital marketing channel that was used:

• Content writing

The linkage to theoretical part learnt in classroom was related to content writing. Ever since

people were taught to write and present their ideas, content writing became a medium of

communication. In the era before the internet, it was the primary medium of providing

information to audiences. As the name implies, it refers to the process of generating traffic,

leads, and customers by creating and promoting content assets.

• SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

The second linkage was related to SEO. It involves optimizing your website so it appears higher

in search engine results pages, thereby increasing the amount of organic (or free) traffic it gets.

SEO benefits channels such as websites, blogs, and infographics.

• SMM (Social media Marketing)

The third linkage was related to social media marketing. In order to increase we created

Facebook ad campaign while using the Facebook ad. A business uses social media marketing

to present itself online by using this to communicate with its target audience. As much as the

main goal of social media marketing is to promote, companies and individuals can also benefit

from it in many other ways.

• SEM (Search Engine Marketing)

The last linkage was related to search engine marketing. Search engine marketing is an aspect

of internet marketing that uses both organic and paid search results to promote a website.

The main objective of these processes is to increase a website's visibility and traffic, so it will

become more successful in gaining sales. An inseparable part of every marketing department

in a company should be search engine optimization, since it can significantly promote the

company and collect relevant customer data.

The impact of work done to securatech systems was that there was an increase in the customer

base by social media.

3.5 Lesson/Experience learnt including skills obtained

• My first experience was learning about the challenges and opportunities of digital marketing

in India.

• I gained an understanding of SEO, SEM, SMM, etc.

• Meeting every customer’s need is very essential, regardless of how small or large that need

may be.

• I was not able to enjoy the corporate atmosphere nut gained a lot of experience while working.

• After completing my first year of the BBA curriculum, I was able to put my classroom learning

to work.

• The quality of leadership is measured by how you influence others. It is essential that an

organization has leaders. In any leadership situation, leaders will handle customers, projects

and so forth.

• One of the lessons I've learned in management is the importance of time management. This

means making individuals more diverted to work. To communicate properly with each level of

management, you need to understand how to do a formal communication.

• Teamwork is essential for this kind of work and it always tries to provide the best results.

• Always have a great knowledge about competitors’ strengths.

4.1 Recommendations

There are few areas of improvement in Securatech Systems that I would like to suggest:

• Videos of products should be uploaded on YouTube which will help the customer to understand

more about the product and they have a better understanding about a product.

• The company should expand its business in many parts of the states so that there is an increase

in customer base and many people came to know about the services/products that securatech

systems provide.

• High-definition photoshoot of the product should be done in order to upload it to securatech

system website so that customer can get a detailed description about the product specially the

features.

• More focus should be given to the SEO of the website. This will increase the ranking on the

google search and will increase more visitors.

• They should carry out promotional activities and understand what potential customers want
from them.

4.2 Conclusion

Overall, this internship was a good experience for me. I have gained new knowledge and skills

I achieved several of my learning goals; however, for some constraints I could not work as per

schedule. Additionally, this has enhanced my ability to think critically, analyse data, and work

in a multicultural environment. The internship helped me to identify the strengths and

weaknesses of mine. The success of any project relies on detailed marketing strategy &

planning. project. Planning is important for the following reasons:

• To facilitate goals achievement

• To facilitate assessment

• To reduce risks

• To make good decisions

• To determine opportunities and risk

So, my company mentor has already assigned tasks for me to execute during my internship.

For the period of almost six weeks, I was able to learn lot about the area that I was interested

in that is digital marketing.

In fact, I personally feel that working in the field of Digital Marketing is not for everyone. As

a digital marketer, you need to be aware of new technology that is efficiently utilized by your

company in comparison with your competitors. The latest news about everything happening

in the world, including Google updates, Events, and content management and SEO (Search

Engine Optimization) is required.

The Securatech Systems company is still in its growth stage, and their service offerings are

expanding not only year-over-year with more customers, but also with more employees. As a
